At first glance, this monitor is big. Its large 32-inch display provides an immersive gaming experience and lets you appreciate the graphical detail the PS5 can produce. It has a maximum resolution of 2560×1440, with a stunning 170Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time (grey-to-grey), which translates to sharp and smooth as-silk visuals.
ASUS focused a little more on the console gamer rather than just the PC gamer with this screen. First things first, the monitor itself is beautifully designed, with its sharp edges and black and red color scheme, almost like it’s trying to draw attention to itself and let you know that it’s different than the rest. Plus, it is well-constructed, promoting durability.
In terms of image quality, this monitor sports a 2560×1440 resolution with a smooth 165Hz refresh rate, which the PS5 cannot use to the fullest as it is capped off at 120Hz, but your eyes really won’t be able to tell the difference. In addition to that, the display covers 99% of the sRGB color gamut, delivering accurate colors with no signs of over-saturation.

The image quality is simply superb, and playing games on it is a treat. The only gripe we have with it is the low native contrast ratio, which makes blacks look more grey in dark environments. But that’s a common issue with cheaper IPS monitors and definitely not a dealbreaker.

It’s a 32” QHD monitor that packs some nice features and great gaming performance for the money. It’s definitely not perfect, but it’s easily one of the best monitors for PS5 in this budget category.
The standout feature of this monitor is its curved, highly immersive screen. Its crisp VA panel offers excellent gaming performance, with a refresh rate of 165Hz (120Hz for PS5), low input lag, and 1440p resolution for more detail on the big screen. The VA panel ensures better contrast and deeper blacks, making it much better for gaming in dark environments as opposed to IPS panels.
Additionally, the color fidelity is above the standard for a VA panel, and you can almost get to full 100% sRGB coverage if you take the time to calibrate it properly. It also supports HDR and VRR (both supported by PS5) to get the most out of your games.
On the other hand, the viewing angles are below average due to the panel technology, and you’ll have to make sure you sit center with your monitor to avoid color distortions. Plus, there is a visible backlight bleed on the top and bottom of the screen, but not to the extent that it would ruin your gaming experience.
The design and ergonomics are good but not great. The monitor boasts a simple but clean aesthetic with a 3-sided thin-bezel design and curved panel that fits nicely with any setup thanks to its matte black finish and not-too-aggressive gaming design.

It could easily be between a console and a tower as a bridge between the two “worlds.”
Even though this monitor has an insanely high refresh rate of 170Hz, which can’t be utilized to the max by the console, your eyes won’t tell the difference. Where you will see the difference is the colors; the monitor provides HDR with a professional color gamut that delivers incredible color vividness and good contrast.
Regarding ergonomics and design, ASUS didn’t cut any corners. It is an incredibly agile monitor, with wider swivel and tilt ranges than most monitors in its category. The height adjustment is pretty large as well, making it easy for you to find your ideal viewing position.
The design is sleek and sophisticated, with a few “gamer” flourishes here and there, and the build quality is solid, with no wobble or sagging, and the panel feels very sturdy with almost no flex.

Surprisingly, it’s not just for those looking for a curved monitor; its 1440p and 165Hz refresh rate make it a perfect match for the PS5, and the monitor also offers a few extra features to help smooth the visuals a bit more. Add to that an exceptionally high contrast, and this is by far the best deal you’ll find out there for around $200.
With such a cheap price, it’s hard not to be impressed by the visuals the AOC C24G1A produces. The 2560×1440 resolution, with a PPI of 109 and 165Hz refresh rate, falls right into one of the PS5’s sweet spot settings of 1440p/120Hz visuals. The input lag and response time are surprisingly good, granting a smooth and responsive experience in fast-paced games.
Plus, the VA technology in the panel offers superior static contrast compared to IPS panels, which results in very deep blacks, making it a perfect monitor for gaming in dark rooms.
It also features a wide color gamut to ensure colors are always vibrant, though you may need to calibrate it for the best results. That being said, the peak brightness is relatively low, and it works fine under normal lighting conditions, but if your room gets a lot of direct sunlight, you may have difficulty seeing what’s on the screen.
From a design perspective, the monitor doesn’t stand out in any way. It sports the same all-black design as most of its lineup. They like to stick with what works, and that’s not a bad thing, but it can be a little monotonous. And while mostly plastic, the construction is sturdy enough.
Ergonomics, on the other hand, are lacking. The stand is heavy and solid and holds the screen firmly in place with no wobble or sagging whatsoever; however, it only offers tilt adjustment (-5°/20°). It’s VESA mount compatible if you want to free its movement up.

To achieve these speeds, certain sacrifices must be made regarding image quality, colors, and viewing angles. However, if speed is all you care about, you can’t go wrong with this one.
Getting into visuals, the sacrifices in color and image quality are apparent right from the start. The TN panels are designed with fast response time and refresh rate being their primary focus, and that is the reason why competitive players still prefer these panels for competitive play to this day.
But for the everyday gamer who wants to unwind after a long day, it’s a shame not to enjoy games with vibrant colors or crisp, detailed visuals, all for the sake of a slight speed increase.
