REASONS TO AVOID

  • Cheap-feeling switches
  • Cumbersome software

Our Rating:   9.5/10

Let’s start with the absolute lightest gaming mouse in 2024, the ASUS TUF Gaming M4 Air. Despite being extremely lightweight, maybe even too light, it is a good choice for any user looking for the lightest mouse possible while maintaining top-level performance and solid build quality.

The TUF brand has always stuck out as the middle ground between the average and premium price points and performance, and you can expect the same here as well.

At a mere 47 grams, this mouse is twice, even three times, as light as some of the most popular gaming mice on the market. You can barely feel it in your hand, and gaming with it feels effortless–But be careful; it does take some time to get used to such light weight.

Another thing to keep in mind is the open design–It does allow for extra dust to get trapped inside, and it exposes some circuitry. However, it is taken into account and compensated for with the IPX6 water-resistant coating, which is both on the chassis and the circuitry itself, protecting your mouse from accidental spills.

Additionally, the performance here is as you should expect for this price, with a 16k DPI sensor and following the popular trend of 100% PTFE feet for the smoothest glide possible.

For gaming, you’ll likely not even use this high of a setting, so the fact that it doesn’t measure up to Logitech’s best sensors might not be a big deal for you. It feels incredibly smooth overall and makes for a very accurate and maneuverable mouse.

The Armory Crate software, while very detailed, modern, and powerful, is a bit cumbersome. We really appreciate the options and synchronization this software provides, but it does seem like a little much if the only ASUS product you use is the mouse.

ASUS provides a LOT of features and additional programs with this software, including AURA Sync for your lighting setup and a lot of PC monitoring and customization options. Although a wonderful tool if you’re an expert user or enthusiast, it might feel a little daunting to a casual user.

Another big drawback for us was the switches, unfortunately. While they perform great, they are mushy and very easy to press, which leads to them feeling very cheap overall. On the brighter side, they’re rated for 60 million presses, so they should at least last for a while.

Despite these drawbacks, the value here is one of the best. With other mice in the same category going for over $100, this price here seems fair. True, it doesn’t offer any premium features, such as wireless connection, RGB, or top optical sensor, but it’s got everything you need to perform well in your games.

Overall, it’s not the best gaming mouse we’ve tested, but it’s certainly one of the best lightweight gaming mice on the market–Especially for the money. If you’re specifically looking to buy the lightest gaming mouse that will also perform well, you won’t regret spending money on this one.

2. FinalMouse Ultralight 2 Cape Town

Weight: 47 g | Sensor: Pixart PMW3360 | DPI: 3,200 | Length: 11.6 cm | Width: 5.3 cm | Height: 3.6 cm | Cable: 2 m (braided)

REASONS TO BUY

  • Extremely lightweight
  • Customizable design with InfinitySkins (included)
  • Solid build quality
  • Great performance
  • Perfect fit for small hands
  • Smooth glide

REASONS TO AVOID

  • No software
  • Hard to find in stock
  • Overpriced (in comparison to the competition)
  • No RGB
  • Doesn’t fit larger hands

Our Rating:   8.8/10

The FinalMouse Ultralight 2 is true to its name, coming in at an incredibly light 47 grams, making it, along with the M4 Air from ASUS, the lightest gaming mouse available.

And despite this mouse being almost four years old, the modern honeycomb design, along with the great performance, makes this mouse a viable option for your next gaming mouse. If you don’t mind paying the hefty price for it, that is.

Surprisingly, the reduction of weight doesn’t come at the cost of reduced build strength–This mouse doesn’t feel flimsy or cheap at all.

In addition, the mouse feet on this mouse are a bit larger than usual, and in combination with the ultra-lightweight construction, allow for a very smooth glide and precise aiming.

Now, s mouse this small is not ideal for gamers with larger hands, and FinalMouse attempts to address that issue with its patented InfinitySkins. These are latex grips that come standard with the purchase and allow you to modify the shape and size of your mouse in a very impressive number of ways.

FinalMouse boasts that there are over 13,000 different shape and size combinations available, which gives you almost infinite customization options.

Keep in mind that this is still not enough to make the mouse comfortable for those with large hands using palm grips; however, if you have medium to larger hands, you will definitely appreciate this feature.

Additionally, the braided cable on the FinalMouse Ultralight 2 is very flexible and doesn’t cause any drag. The fact there is no wireless or Bluetooth compatibility may be a downside for some gamers, but the cable shouldn’t cause any undue issues to your gaming experience.

Plus, the cable also helps compliment the pleasing off-white and burnt orange color scheme, making this mouse not only fun to use but nice to look at as well.

Aside from its incredibly lightweight profile, another place the Ultralight 2 shines is its buttons and latency. The clicks are snappy and satisfying, while latency is top-notch, something that even the most competitive gamers will appreciate.

As far as drawbacks, the price is, by far, the biggest one–If you don’t have money to burn, stay away from this one.

Plus, there is no dedicated software or RGB, and the fact that you can buy the latest wireless gaming mice for less is a big turn-off.

But overall, the FinalMouse UltraLight 2 still has a lot to offer–It performs well, offers amazing customization, and, after all, it’s the lightest gaming mouse available in 2024 if that’s what you’re looking for. However, we don’t recommend you buy this one at the current price point–There are much better lightweight mice for significantly less money.

3. Razer Viper V2 Pro

Weight: 58 g | Sensor: Razer Focus Pro 30K | DPI: 30,000 | Length: 12.7 cm | Width: 6.6 cm | Height: 3.8 cm | Battery Life: Up to 80 hours

Razer Viper V2 ProREASONS TO BUY

  • Lightweight with solid construction
  • Universally comfortable shape
  • Crisp and responsive switches
  • Exceptional performance
  • Incredibly smooth glide
  • High durability
  • Comes with optional rubber grips

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Far too expensive for casuals
  • No on-board memory
  • No RGB

Our Rating:   9.8/10

The Razer Viper V2 Pro is a must if you’re a competitive player looking for the very best lightweight gaming mouse.

It is an extremely well-made mouse with a top-of-the-line optical sensor and switches. This, in combination with its lightweight design and ergonomic shape, translates into one of the best gaming mice we’ve ever tried, period.

At just 58 grams, this is also one of the lightest mice available, which gives you an edge in point-and-click situations. Aiming, stabilization, and moving targets are all much better as the mouse gets lighter, and this is about as light as it gets.

As we already touched on, the raw performance of the mouse is top-notch. With a 30k optical sensor, custom Razer switches that feel extremely crisp and responsive, and a click count of over 90 million, you’ll have all the tools at hand (literally) to dominate the competition.

Some icing on top is included here with 70-80 hour battery life, improved mouse feet for an extremely smooth glide and accurate movements, both wireless and wired connectivity options, and a 4000hz polling rate for the lowest possible latency.

In terms of build quality, we were pleasantly surprised, given how light the mouse is. From the switches to the scroll wheel to the overall build quality, everything on this mouse is high-quality.

Razer also added an optional set of rubber grips that can be placed on both sides of the mouse for better grip. The texture of the shell without it is grippy enough, especially for how light the mouse is, but if you need more grip, you have that option.

They’re also fully replaceable, so once you wear them out, you can buy new ones for less than $10 and simply reapply them again.

Now, the software is a bit of a mixed bag, although it does come from personal preference and the mouse itself as well. There is no onboard memory on this mouse, which means in order to have it set up as you like, the Razer Synapses software must be running at all times.

This can be quite annoying for gamers who move to different machines or setups a lot or who want as little running in the background as possible.

When it comes to drawbacks, there are two major ones you should keep in mind. First, there is no RGB. We understand–In order to make the mouse as light as possible, you have to sacrifice some things. But RGB? Razer? Odd.

Second, the price is a tough pill to swallow. Yes, it is a Razer product, and the performance is truly amazing, but still, paying this much for a mouse never feels good. For a casual gamer or a gamer who does not play first-person shooters, this is NOT for you and is grossly overpriced.

However, this mouse targets professional, competitive gamers at the highest level–The durability, accuracy, weight, tactile feedback of the buttons and mouse wheel, and raw performance come together to create one of the best professionally competitive FPS options available on the market that will be worth every penny to the right person.

All in all, it’s not the lightest gaming mouse out there, but it could very well be the best lightweight gaming mouse on the market in 2024–We highly recommend this one if you have the budget and the use for it.

4. FinalMouse Air 58

Weight: 58 g | Sensor: Pixart PMW3360 | DPI: 12,000 | Length: 12.8 cm | Width: 6 cm | Height: 4 cm | Cable: 1.9 m (braided)

REASONS TO BUY

  • One of the lightest gaming mice on the market
  • Great performance for gaming
  • Crisp, satisfying buttons (including side buttons)
  • Solid overall construction
  • Accommodates a wide variety of grips
  • Grippy texture
  • Smooth glide

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Limited availability
  • Rigid cord
  • Not suitable for small hands
  • Massive price tag
  • No special features

Our Rating:   8.9/10

Next up on the list, we got the infamous FinalMouse Air 58. This mouse was made back in 2019 in collaboration with the top Fortnite play Ninja, and it’s an excellent gaming mouse to this day.

The only issue with this mouse is that it has become somewhat of a collector’s piece over the years, and as such, it’s really hard to find. And even if you do find it, you’ll have to pay an insane amount of money for it.

What’s unique about this mouse is how big it is despite being one of the lightest gaming mice on the market, with 58 grams. It’s one of the very few that will comfortably fit large hands, and thanks to its light weight, it’s suitable for a variety of grips, including palm, claw, and even fingertip grip.

As far as build quality, the mouse is very well-built overall. There is a noticeable side flex when you squeeze the mouse, but that’s to be expected with the honeycomb design extending to the sides of the mouse.

The buttons, however, are outstanding–The click is crisp, satisfying, and super responsive–You’ll appreciate how good these feel during gaming. And the same goes for the side buttons–Crisp, easy to press, and great placement. It’s obvious that FinalMouse put a lot of effort into providing the best experience for gamers.

In terms of performance, you won’t get the latest and greatest optical sensor. The Air 58 is packed with a PixArt PMW3360 sensor with a maximum of 3200 DPI and a polling rate of 500 Hz.

While on paper, that may sound inadequate compared to today’s gaming mice, the performance is perfectly fine, and we can comfortably recommend this even to the most competitive FPS gamers in 2024.

Like all of FinalMouse’s mice, the Air 58 comes with a durable and light braided cord that should last for a while. The only complaint we have with the cable is that it’s not the most flexible–A mouse bungee is definitely a good idea here.

On the underside, you’ll find 4 feet that allow for smooth and graceful movements, making aiming and any other precise movements a breeze. There are also a lot of replacement mouse feet available online for this mouse in case you wear them out quickly.

When it comes to drawbacks, there aren’t many, except for the availability and huge price tag we mentioned before. Another factor you may want to consider is that it’s a barebone, no RGB, 4-button design built with performance and speed only in mind. If you want a mouse with some extra features, this is definitely not it.

Overall, we can’t recommend the FinalMouse Air 58 one bit. Yes, it’s still one of the lightest gaming mice on the market, and it performs admirably, but it’s an older model with no features or lighting and a massive price tag. We can only recommend this one as a collector’s piece.

5. Pulsar Gaming Gears Xlite V2

Weight: 59 g | Sensor: PixArt PAW3370 | DPI: 20,000 | Length: 12.3 cm | Width: 6.6 cm | Height: 4.2 cm | Battery Life: 70+ hours

Pulsar Pulsar Gaming Gears Xlite V2REASONS TO BUY

  • Extremely lightweight
  • Competitive pricing
  • Excellent performance
  • Crisp, satisfying switches
  • Ergonomic, highly comfortable shape
  • Accommodates most grips and hand sizes
  • Excellent build quality
  • Solid battery life

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Open-top and bottom chassis
  • Dust prone
  • No RGB lighting

Our Rating:   9.4/10

If you’re looking for a wireless, lightweight gaming mouse and can’t afford the premium Razer or Logitech offerings, the Pulsar Gaming Gears Xlite V2 is a great option that won’t break the bank.

It’s an ergonomic, wireless, super lightweight gaming mouse geared towards FPS players at a reasonable price.

Weighing in at 59 grams, it’s still one of the lightest gaming mice available in 2024. It’s 4 grams heavier than its predecessor, the Xlite (V1), but that’s due to the rebalancing of the mouse and improving grip by removing the holes from the sides of the mouse.

Performance-wise, this mouse sports the new PixArt PAW3370 optical sensor, which is capable of 400 IPS, 20k DPI, and 1000hz polling rate, making it one of the higher-performing sensors on the list.

This is a step up from the PAW3335 sensor found on the ASUS M4 Air in raw performance, but likely, you won’t even notice the difference. All of these new optical sensors provide excellent tracking of your movements and high-level performance for competitive gaming, and this one is no different.

In addition, the Xlite V2 also uses the Kailh GM 8.0 switches, which are well-known for their durability and tactile nature. On top of that, this mouse is very well put together–There is no rattling or side flex when shaking and squeezing the mouse. and feels great to use.

Further, the mouse feet also feel like an improvement over the previous model. While Pulsar doesn’t mention anything about improving them, they definitely feel a bit smoother, providing even a better glide compared to its predecessor.

The battery is advertised at 70 hours, just slightly under some of the competition here, which can boast up to 90, but still a solid range. With an ergonomic build made for the right hand, it’s also extremely comfortable to use for long periods, a must for competitive gamers.

The software used to customize the mouse is very straightforward, and you are easily able to customize the DPI, debounce time, add macros, reassign keys, and turn off or change your acceleration. Sweet and simple with everything you need, and we like it.

The only real downside here comes in small packages. While the 1ms latency and excellent wireless connectivity are great, we would have loved to see a Bluetooth option. However, when focusing on weight, you can only do so much.

The value is on point here, only a little more expensive than the M4 from ASUS, and adding a wireless feature makes it hold up well in the marketplace. It’s certainly a solid option if you are looking for everything ASUS can do and adding wireless on top.

Overall, if you’re looking for a lightweight gaming mouse and want the best performance without breaking the bank, this is your best bet as a middle-of-the-road option for competitive FPS gamers.

6. Cooler Master MM711

Weight: 60 g | Sensor: PixArt PMW3389 | DPI: 16,000 | Length: 11.7 cm | Width: 6.2 cm | Height: 3.8 cm | Cable: 1.85 m (braided)

REASONS TO BUY

  • Very budget-friendly
  • Extremely lightweight
  • Perfect fit for a claw grip
  • Sturdy and durable build
  • Excellent performance for gaming
  • Great cable
  • Very smooth glide
  • Great implementation of RGB

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Less durable switches
  • Very little ergonomics

Our Rating:   9.4/10

The Cooler Master MM711, a successor of the widely unpopular MM710, is another excellent lightweight gaming mouse that’s worth considering. Unlike its predecessor, it’s well-built and balanced and able to compete with mice that cost twice as much.

60g is all the Cooler Master MM711 needs to take your PC gaming experience to the next level. This model incorporates the popular honeycomb shell design (this time with the holes being in the shape of Cooler Master’s logo) that reduces weight and works very well aesthetically with the included RGB.

Shape-wise, the MM711 is a wide yet short mouse with a larger hump on the back that provides ample palm support, making it suitable for larger hands despite the mouse being under 12cm long. Thanks to that and its width, it’s a perfect fit for claw grips, although fingertip and palm grips are also viable if you have smaller hands.

Now, despite this mouse being a couple of years old already, you still get a high-performing PixArt PMW3389 sensor with a maximum of 16,000 DPI and a speed of 400 IPS. This makes for pinpoint tracking and accuracy in your games, helping you perform the best at the highest levels.

The DPI is easily adjustable using the DPI button below the scroll wheel–You will be able to choose from 7 levels, starting at 400 and going all the way to the maximum of 16,000 DPI. You can also use Cooler Master’s MasterPlus+ software for more in-depth customization (RGB, lift-off distance, DPI, and more)

The buttons (and switches) are a bit of a mixed bag on the MM711. You get the standard Omron switches, which are only rated for 20 million clicks–While it doesn’t sound bad, you can expect a much shorter lifespan out of these compared to the competition. A lot of newer mice in the same price range offer far better durability (50+ million clicks)

In terms of the user experience, though, we have no complaints–the buttons are firm, snappy, and responsive, and the same can be said about the side buttons.

In addition, the mouse feet are another feature where the MM711 passed with flying colors, providing a smoother glide compared to the MM710. Adding to the mouse’s agility is the cable–It’s quality, durable, and flexible, completely removing the need for a mouse bungee.

Lastly, if you decide to go with this mouse, you’ll appreciate the number of color options and various finishes Cooler Master offers. You’ll be able to choose from a matte or glossy finish, as well as a number of colors, including white, black, blue, grey, and various limited edition models.

All in all, the Cooler Master MM711 is another excellent option for gamers who don’t want to spend extravagant amounts on a gaming mouse. It’s got more than enough performance, RGB, crisp switches, solid build quality, and a more than fair price tag–If you like the Viper Mini but have larger hands, this is an excellent alternative.

7. Razer Viper Mini

Weight: 61 g | Sensor: PixArt PMW3359 | DPI: 8,500 | Length: 11.8 cm | Width: 5.4 cm | Height: 3.8 cm | Cable: Razer Speedflex Cable

REASONS TO BUY

  • Budget-friendly price
  • Amazing value for the money
  • Beautifully light with no holes
  • Quality and durable build
  • Massive 100% PTFE mouse feet for a smooth glide
  • Durable and flexible cable
  • Crisp optical switches
  • RGB

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Not suitable for larger hands
  • Old, worse-performing sensor

Our Rating:   9.7/10

The Viper Mini is Razer’s older offering, but still an amazing gaming mouse to this day, especially if you have small hands and a tight budget. It’s missing some of the raw performance of its bigger brothers, but for the money, you really can’t go wrong here.

At 61 grams, it’s the second lightest (right behind the Viper V2 Pro) gaming mouse without any holes in the shell. As a result, it’s really thin (it’s the thinnest on this list at 54mm) and short–As such, it’s only viable for small to medium hands using a claw or fingertip grip. A Palm grip is not really an option here, and gamers will large hands should definitely look elsewhere.

For those worried about durability, you don’t have to–Despite its light weight, the mouse feels durable with no flexing or squeaking when applying pressure.

On top of that, saying this mouse is agile is an understatement. In addition to its skinny body, Razer installed some massive 100% PTFE mouse feet, making moving it around easier than ever. Plus, the Razer Speedflex cable is quite flexible and nicely complements the Viper Mini’s mobility.

Performance-wise, the Viper Mini is powered by PixArt’s PMW3359 sensor, which provides up to 8,500 DPI and a speed of 400 IPS. It is a bit outdated at this point, but it will still handle everything you throw at it, including high-level gaming.

What’s not outdated are the switches–These are Razer’s own optical switches, and while rated for only 50 million clicks, they perform beautifully. They feel crisp, precise, and really satisfying to use. In addition, the scroll wheel is fantastic as well, with tactile steps and a quality feel.

One thing where this mouse beats its successors it’s the RGB lighting. Oddly enough, Razer didn’t include RGB on their latest Viper V2 Pro (and the Deathadder V3 as well), whereas this mouse features RGB both on the logo and on the underside of the mouse. As always, you can control it, as well as a number of other things, via Razer’s Synapse 3 software.

Despite being an older model, the Razer Viper Mini is our top recommendation for gamers with small hands looking for the best lightweight gaming mouse out there. While the sensor is certainly not the best, the mouse feels and performs well, is quality and durable, and, most importantly, is affordable and represents an amazing value for the money.

8. HyperX Pulsefire Haste

Weight: 61 g | Sensor: Pixart PAW3335 | DPI: 16,000 | Length: 12.4 cm | Width: 6.7 cm | Height: 3.8 cm | Battery Life: Up to 100 hours

HyperX Pulsefire HasteREASONS TO BUY

  • Very competitive pricing
  • Quality build
  • Extremely lightweight
  • Solid overall performance
  • Nice to use and durable switches (80M clicks)
  • ‘Safe’ shape that accommodates most grips and hand sizes
  • Fantastic battery life
  • Thick, 100% PTFE mouse feet provide excellent glide

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Very little ergonomics
  • Not the best performance
  • Cheap scroll wheel

Our Rating:   9.5/10

The HyperX Pulsefire Haste is the company’s first wireless and ultralight gaming mouse in one. Despite using some cheaper internals for it, it’s overall a good option if you’re looking for an affordable, medium-sized, wireless gaming mouse.

At only 62 grams, this mouse is another very light honeycomb design, but with some RGB on top. Usually, at this weight, companies are cutting out just about everything to keep the weight as low as possible, but here, they manage to squeeze in some RGB while still keeping the weight extremely low.

Performance-wise, it does its job well with the PixArt PAW3335 optical sensor, which provides up to 16,000 DPI and 400 IPS. While certainly not the best sensor out there, it performs well in games with accurate tracking and is a good match for a mouse at this price point.

For switches, you get the TTC Golden switches, which provide a very light and satisfying click. However, keep in mind that they’re not as crisp and tactile as the Kailh GM 8.0 switches and are much lighter compared to the Omron switches many mice use.

Plus, you get a rating of 80 million clicks, which is comparable to the best gaming mouse on the market in 2024.

When it comes to build quality, we have no complaints. It’s not the most durable gaming mouse out there, but for the weight, it’s surprisingly well-built with very little side flex and no quality issues–While we can’t speak to the long-term durability, we’re confident to say that it should last for a while.

The HyperX NGENUITY software is small and lightweight as well, with all the basic options for RGB, button, and sensor customization. It is straightforward to use. While the mouse has no onboard profile, it does function fine for plug-and-play, although you will want to download the software and tweak it to your liking.

In terms of battery life, you get an above-average 100 hours. This beats many of the more expensive offerings, including the G Pro X from Logitech (70 hours) or the Wireless Model D from Glorious (71 hours), for example.

The biggest gripe we have with this mouse is the scroll wheel. It’s not precise to use and feels a bit cheap–We’ve seen better scroll wheels on self-proclaimed $20 gaming mice you see all over.

But overall, the HyperX Pulsefire Haste is an excellent choice for gamers on a budget. It’s a good-performing, ultra-lightweight, wireless mouse that cuts costs at the right places to give you the best bang for your buck. We highly recommend this one.

9. Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro

Weight: 63 g | Sensor: Razer Focus Pro 30K | DPI: 30,000 | Length: 12.8 cm | Width: 6.8 cm | Height: 4.4 cm | Battery Life: Up to 90 hours

Razer DeathAdder V3 ProREASONS TO BUY

  • Lightweight design with no holes
  • Extremely well-built
  • Highly comfortable, ergo shape
  • Perfect fit for larger hands with claw or palm grip
  • Top-of-the-line performance
  • Exceptional switches with a 90 million click lifespan
  • Long battery life
  • Super smooth glide

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Premium price
  • No RGB

Our Rating:   9.8/10

As a leader in the gaming industry, it’s no surprise Razer has multiple entries on this list. The Deathadder V3 Pro is a little heavier than Razer’s own competitor, the Viper V2 Pro, but features an incredibly comfortable shape and feel with a similar price point.

Weighing 63-64 grams, it is slightly heavier than some others on this list, but as we mentioned before, 5 or so grams likely won’t make or break your gaming experience, especially if comfort is on your mind.

What’s unique about this mouse is how big and light it is at the same time. Most of the lighter mice sacrifice the extra plastic and comfort level to shave off another 5-10 grams, but here we see a classic shape that will give you comfort for many hours of gaming, especially for those with larger hands using a claw or palm grip.

With a Focus Pro 30k Optical Sensor, you can be sure you’re getting top-of-the-line performance that’s on par with other market leaders. This is to be expected at this price, but Razer also shows you their strengths of producing much of their own hardware, such as Razer’s own Optical Mouse Switches featured here.

And these are, in a word, amazing–They not only feel super crisp and responsive to game with, but they’re also extremely durable, with a rating of 90 million clicks. So, along with the sensor, we’re confident to say you’re getting the best there currently is–it is a strong step above traditional switches and is a standout feature that you can feel.

A premium battery life is also present in this premium product, boasting up to 90 hours, which is market-leading for this weight class. On top of this, you get a USB-C charging port for extra fast charging.

Lastly, the Deathadder is quite expensive, which is the only major drawback as far as we’re concerned. But, the entire package is presented as the best lightweight gaming mouse on the market, balanced for all aspects of gaming, including top-level comfort, performance, and feel. And frankly, there’s not a better lightweight mouse for larger hands.

While not recommended for a casual gamer, any competitive gamer should look no further. The premium and high-tech hardware implemented here is market-leading and one of the best experiences you can have with a gaming mouse. Paired with the ergonomic feel, this is one of our highest-recommended mice in 2024.

10. Logitech G Pro X Superlight

Weight: 63 g | Sensor: Logitech HERO 25K | DPI: 25,600 | Length: 12.5 cm | Width: 6.4 cm | Height: 4 cm | Battery Life: Up to 70 hours

Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHTREASONS TO BUY

  • Incredibly light with no perforation
  • Exceptional performance
  • Crisp, low-latency switches
  • High-quality construction
  • Comfortable shape for medium to large hands
  • Superb glide with new mouse feet
  • Solid battery life

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Micro USB charging (instead of USB Type-C)
  • Premium price
  • No RGB

Our Rating:   9.8/10

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight probably needs no introduction. This is the latest iteration of what many call the best gaming mouse in the world, and we, for the most part, agree. It’s also a direct competitor of the DeathAdder V3, sharing both top-of-the-line performance as well as a massive price tag.

Similar to what you see on the Deathadder V3 happened here–Logitech removed all the extra fancy features, including RGB lighting, to create one of the lightest and best-performing mice available.

At less than 63 grams (we measured 60.6 grams), it’s even a bit lighter than its main competitor and will provide the same feeling of accuracy and precision. And, just like Razer, Logitech also makes some parts in-house, which gives them an advantage you’ll see below.

The performance is what you would expect from a high-end gaming mouse. You get Logitech’s HERO sensor inside, which in September 2020 was updated to a maximum DPI of 25,600 and was the highest-performing DPI sensor on the market at the time. Numbers aside, it feels accurate and precise, and we didn’t notice any issues with it.

In a similar fashion, the buttons and switches on the G Pro X are exceptional. Both the primary buttons and the side buttons feel nice and crisp, with a good amount of tactility and satisfying click. For some reason, Logitech doesn’t state the lifespan of the switches, but the mouse has been out for a couple of years now with very few complaints from users.

One of the bigger improvements over the previous model is the mouse feet. These are the biggest stock mouse feet we’ve seen, and you can actually feel the difference–The glide on this mouse is simply perfect.

In terms of battery life, Logitech is a step behind Razer with this mouse, with only a 70-hour lifespan compared to Deathadder’s 90 hours. What’s worse is that Logitech opted for micro USB charging, unlike the USB Type-C connectivity found on Razer’s mouse, which noticeably slows down your charging time.

The obvious drawback here, besides the premium price tag, is that it’s NOT appealing to casual users or gamers who don’t play any first-person shooters. This mouse is quite expensive and, without many buttons or extra features, is tailored toward a specific competitive gaming audience that is strictly looking for the best performance.

Overall, the Logitech G Pro X is an easy recommendation for competitive FPS gamers. It offers amazing performance, lightweight yet durable construction, and a universally comfortable shape. While expensive, this is probably the best lightweight gaming mouse on the market in 2024.

11. SteelSeries Aerox 5

Weight: 66 g | Sensor: SteelSeries TrueMove Air | DPI: 18,000 | Length: 12.9 cm | Width: 6.8 cm | Height: 2.7 cm | Cable: Super Mesh USB-C Cable

SteelSeries Aerox 5REASONS TO BUY

  • Lightweight yet sturdy build
  • Highly comfortable shape
  • Solid overall performance
  • Light and tactile buttons
  • Attractive aesthetics
  • Detachable cable
  • Prominent RGB
  • Smooth glide

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Rigid cable
  • Weird design of the side buttons
  • Too large for smaller hands

Our Rating:   9.5/10

The SteelSeries Aerox 5 is a fairly affordable ultra-lightweight mouse with a surprisingly comfortable shape and quality construction. As the company’s first attempt at making an ultra-lightweight mouse, it’s certainly not perfect, but it holds its own against similarly priced competition.

At 66 grams and 129mm long, 68mm wide, and 27mm tall, this mouse will appeal to gamers with large hands using either claw or palm grips. Fingertip grip is also possible thanks to the low weight, but won’t be as comfortable due to the sheer width of this mouse.

No matter the grip you use, the ergonomic shape of the mouse is surprisingly comfortable. The only issue when using the mouse is the cable. It’s high quality and feels durable, but isn’t very flexible, making the mouse less agile–Good thing it’s detachable, so you can easily replace it with a custom one.

If you want to drop the cable altogether, SteelSeries does make a wireless model, but with a similar price tag as the Razer DeathAdder V3 or the Logitech G Pro X, it’s not something we’d recommend. Plus, the wireless model is almost 10 grams heavier.

If going wireless, you’ll get over 100 hours of gaming, and that’s partly why there’s such a weight difference. Both models (wired and wireless) have decent water resistance as well, Rated IP54. Unlike the top gaming mouse, however, you’re getting a fully customizable RGB lighting setup.

Now, the performance here is great, and while it doesn’t feature the newest 30k DPI sensor, it performs just as well. The price is kept down by providing a solid 18000 DPI TrueMove Air Optical Sensor (rebranded PixArt PAW3335) that feels accurate and precise during gaming.

Unlike literally every other mouse on this list, we get more than two additional thumb buttons with 5. With a grand total of 9 programmable buttons, this will be much better suited to gamers who play more than first-person shooters.

SteelSeries software is simple and straightforward, easily used, and customizable. If you have more SteelSeries gear, the software will also incorporate that, and you can set up RGB sync to match the rest of your gear. You can even map the RGB on the mouse to reflect in-game states, like turning red when you die in-game, for example.

It is a bit difficult to find a significant downside aside from the cable. Being nitpicky, many folks simply do not like the hex-built chassis. While it is water resistant, the idea of something sticky falling in or extra dust buildup isn’t great. It would also be great if the wireless version didn’t add so much weight, as we would happily take a shorter battery life to compensate.

Overall, the SteelSeries Aerox 5 is a really solid option for the money. It’s certainly the best and most comfortable shape out of any mouse they’ve made so far. Plus, you get solid performance, nice aesthetics, lightweight yet sturdy construction, and, most importantly, an affordable price tag.

12. G-Wolves Skoll

Weight: 66 g | Sensor: PixArt PMW3360 | DPI: 12,000 | Length: 12.4 cm | Width: 6 cm | Height: 4.2 cm | Cable: 1.8 m Braided Cable

REASONS TO BUY

  • Super lightweight with solid build quality
  • Very comfortable, ergo shape
  • Perfect for larger hands with palm or claw grips
  • Flexible cable
  • Solid, crisp switches
  • Unique implementation of RGB

REASONS TO AVOID

  • The holes on the sides can be uncomfortable
  • Stock mouse skates could be better
  • Older sensor

Our Rating:   9.4/10

G-Wolves was a relatively unknown manufacturer until they released their lightweight gaming masterpiece. The Skoll is an understated featherweight gaming mouse that follows the trends of those that came before it while adding its own unique flavor.

The Skoll adopts the honeycomb design that has become synonymous with lightweight gaming mice. The conservative design won’t blow you away aesthetically, but it’s not an unattractive mouse by any means.

There are two things that are unique about its design. The first one is the RGB–Instead of a standard RGB setup inside the shell, you get an RGB strip around the whole perimeter of the mouse, which creates a really cool underglow in the dark.

Second, the perforating that’s usually only at the top and bottom is, in this case, on the sides where you grip the mouse. We didn’t have any issues with it in terms of comfort or grip, but some gamers find it uncomfortable, so keep that in mind.

Where the Skoll really shines is its ergonomic shape and the incredible comfort that comes along with it. Mouse aficionados will more than likely notice how familiar this Skoll looks.

The design is an almost carbon copy of Zowie’s famous EC line of mice, which means that, just like with the EC, you’re getting a mouse with absolute first-class comfort if you have medium to large hands.

Additionally, the Skoll’s main buttons are accompanied by Omron switches, which gives them the function and reliability you’d come to expect. The buttons are somewhere between medium to heavy clicks–You get a crisp and satisfying click when you actuate the switch, and there is very little to no pre or post-travel.

The scroll wheel is nearly silent and has very clearly defined steps, making it a pleasure to use for browsing and gaming alike. The defined steps also make it an excellent option for people who use their scroll wheel for precise tasks like switching weapons or spells.

The power behind this mouse is the standard PixArt PMW3360 sensor. It’s an older sensor but still offers adequate performance for the vast majority of gamers. Unless you’re a professional gamer, you don’t really need the top-of-the-line sensor. Plus, the 12,000 DPI is more than enough.

Overall, the G-Wolves Skoll is a great option we highly recommend to gamers with larger hands using palm or claw grip. It’s still extremely light at 66 grams, and the performance, along with the switches, is great. Plus, it comes with a pretty competitive price tag and overall represents a solid value.

13. Glorious Model O

Weight: 67 g | Sensor: PixArt PMW3360 | DPI: 12,000 | Length: 12 cm | Width: 5.8 cm | Height: 3.6 cm | Cable: 2 m Braided Cable

Glorious Model O-REASONS TO BUY

  • Excellent value for the money
  • Great performance for gaming
  • Very flexible cable
  • Smooth glide with G-Skates
  • Crisp and durable Omron switches
  • Choice of matte and glossy finishes
  • Quality build
  • Attractive aesthetics

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Older sensor
  • Not a lot of ergonomics

Our Rating:   9.6/10

The Glorious Model O is another mouse that doesn’t need an introduction, as it’s probably the most popular lightweight honeycomb design mouse on the market. It’s been available for a few years now, and with its quality build, great performance, and competitive pricing, it’s easy to see the appeal.

The Model O is an ambidextrous, medium-sized mouse that accommodates a number of grips, but it works best with claw, hybrid claw, and fingertip grips. And while 67 grams isn’t the lightest you can get, for many gamers, it hits the sweet spot between being too light and too heavy.

In terms of the shape, it’s designed with a gradual slope towards the back of the mouse that slightly raises the heel of your hand in an upward motion. When you go from the front to the back, you’ll notice that the base of the mouse gets thinner in the middle and steadily widens the further back you go. The shape is quite similar to the Zowie FK series, which is renowned for its comfort.

Another feature that this mouse shines at is its construction and design. Not only is it extremely well built, but it’s also one of the best-looking gaming mice thanks to its two RGB strips as well as an RGB ring on the scroll wheel.

You’ll find the Glorious mascot on the left side, and on the right, there’s the ‘GLORIOUS’ logo slightly towards the front. These aesthetics combined make the Glorious Model O a beauty, especially the white version.

Inside the Model O, you’ll find the industry standard, the PixArt PMW3360 sensor. As we mentioned earlier, it’s an older sensor, but it still performs great, so don’t worry–Gone are the days when you have to be worrying about mouse jittering, acceleration, or smoothing. Flawless sensors are the standard these days, so companies need to set themselves apart in different ways.

For switches, Glorious opted for another industry standard–Omron switches. These switches are everything you need to be at the top of the game–Responsive, easy to press, and crisp. They’re not as good as some of the newer, more premium offerings, but they’re perfectly fine for gaming.

The bottom of the mouse houses four G-Skates mouse feet that provide smooth and elegant movement during gameplay. Sometimes, right out of the box, some cheaper mouse feet struggle to provide the gliding motion gamers desire, but G-Skates don’t skip a beat.

Further, this is a plug-and-play mouse, so you can plug it in and get to gaming without having to install drivers or software. But if you want to, you can download Glorious Core software. Inside, you’ll be able to adjust the lighting, LOD, polling rate, and a few other options.

Lastly, Glorious makes two other versions of this exact mouse. One is the Model O minus, a smaller version for gamers with smaller hands, and the second version has no wire–For gamers with deeper pockets. If that’s not enough, you also get to pick between glossy and matte finishes.

Overall, the Glorious Model O is probably the safest option you have when looking for a lightweight gaming mouse. It’s a quality, affordable, well-performing mouse with a very safe shape. Plus, it looks amazing. For the money, you can’t really go wrong with this one.

14. Glorious Model D Wireless

Weight: 69 g | Sensor: Glorious BAMF Sensor | DPI: 19,000 | Length: 12.0 cm | Width: 6.7 cm | Height: 4.2 cm | Battery Life: Up to 71 hours

Glorious Model D WirelessREASONS TO BUY

  • Exceptional build quality
  • Great overall performance
  • Attractive aesthetics
  • Affordable price
  • Comfortable ergonomic shape
  • Crisp and durable primary buttons
  • Good scroll wheel
  • Smooth glide

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Flimsy side buttons
  • Short battery life with RGB on

Our Rating:   9.7/10

The Glorious Model D Wireless is, as the name suggests, a wireless version of the most popular gaming mouse. Glorious kept the shape and aesthetics the same while adding a bunch of upgrades to increase the value and make it a more well-rounded product.

At 69 grams, it is starting to approach the middle-weight category, but it still feels very light and agile in hand, which is in part thanks to the ergonomic shape and the absence of a cable.

Besides that, this is a large mouse made for medium to large hands. it’s not that long at 12 cm, however, it’s pretty wide at 6.7 cm, and tall at 4.2 cm, which makes it a really bad fit for smaller hands. Glorious addresses this with the Model D Minus, a smaller version of this exact mouse design for gamers with small hands.

What you’ll really appreciate about this latest Model D model is how well it is constructed. There were some quality issues on the previous models, and they’re completely gone here. There is no side flex, squeaking, or rattling, and the mouse as a whole feels extremely sturdy despite its honeycomb design. Kudos to Glorious.

Now, the performance is solid for the price, featuring a BAMF sensor with 400 IPS, 19k DPI, and a 1000hz polling rate. Nothing special, but it’s certainly up to par with its main competitors–We had no issues during our gameplay, as most of the new sensors work flawlessly.

The buttons on this mouse are a bit of a mixed bag. While the primary buttons, the Kailh 8.0, are excellent–Crisp, tactile, and durable, with a rating of 80 million clicks, the side buttons are pretty disappointing. They feel a bit mushy with a lot of pre-travel–Something Glorious could definitely improve in the future.

The software is extremely simple and easy to use. You won’t find a lot of additional options or capabilities or RGB sync options, but you can very easily change your basic options, such as DPI levels, lighting effects, polling rate, and more.

Lastly, the battery life is rated at over 70 hours, which is more than enough considering you can plug it in to charge while you use it. However, that’s with the lighting off. With RGB on, the battery lasts about 2 days if you put in some long hours, which is not optimal. At least Glorious included USB-C charging, so you’re back to full within minutes.

Overall, the Glorious Model D Wireless is a perfect choice for gamers with large hands looking for a lightweight wireless gaming mouse. It’s perfect for claw or palm grips, and its classic ergonomic shape will keep you comfortable during marathon gaming sessions. There are some drawbacks, mainly the side buttons and the battery life, but it’s still one of the best lightweight gaming mice in this price range.

15. Razer Viper

Weight: 69 g | Sensor: Razer 5G Optical Sensor | DPI: 20,000 | Length: 12.7 cm | Width: 6.6 cm | Height: 3.8 cm | Cable: Razer Speedflex Cable

REASONS TO BUY

  • ‘Safe’, comfortable shape
  • Lightweight with hole-less design
  • Excellent fit for claw grips and larger hands
  • Great, flexible cable
  • Exceptional build quality
  • Responsive optical switches
  • Well-performing sensor
  • Grippy texture with rubber side panels
  • Affordable

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Disappointing mouse feet
  • Older model (newer, better models available)

Our Rating:   9.6/10

Next up on the list, we got the first iteration of the massively successful Viper gaming mouse. Since its release in 2019, this mouse has been updated many times, receiving upgrades to its design, size, weight, and, of course, performance.

What’s great about this model is the fact that despite being the oldest model, it still offers great performance and can be found for way cheaper than its successors at most online stores.

Just like all the Vipers, bigger or smaller, it offers what many would describe as a safe, comfortable, ambidextrous gaming mouse. It technically has eight buttons, but that includes two side buttons on both the left and right and a DPI profile switch underneath, so it’s more like the standard five-button form.

Now, what used to be exciting about this mouse was the optical primary switches. Now, almost every gaming mouse comes standard with these, so we can’t really call this a selling point. Nonetheless, they’re responsive, low-latency, and durable clicks, and still feel exceptional even today.

The same goes for the side buttons and the scroll wheel–No issues, with a quality feel and firm presses. For the sensor, you get Razer’s 5G Optical sensor, which performs great–It was the absolute best sensor at the time of the release, and it still competes with the freshly released offerings.

Razer‘s Speedflex cable comes standard on the Viper, just like a majority of the company’s other mice. The incredibly flexible, low-drag cable doesn’t pinch, bunch up, or drag against rough surfaces as many other cables do. A quality cable is a fairly underrated feature that can make a world of difference when needing to move the mouse on a continuous basis during gaming.

Like all of Razer‘s peripherals, the Viper uses the Synapse configuration software for customizing button configurations, setting your DPI presets, adjusting RGB settings, and creating new mouse profiles for specific games and apps. After a little browsing, these features become fairly easy to use and are awesome features.

As far as drawbacks, the biggest gripe we have is the mouse feet. They’re very basic and simply don’t provide enough glide. And while it’s an easy fix to put on custom mouse feet, it’s an unavoidable investment if you don’t have a mouse pad.

All in all, the original Razer Viper is still a viable option, even in 2024, after so many updates. It’s a comfortable, lightweight, quality, and well-performing mouse that can be frequently found on sale due to its older age. We highly recommend this one to folks who like the Viper but can’t afford the newer, more expensive models.

Are Lighter Mice Better for Gaming?

Lightweight gaming mice are becoming a staple in the professional and casual gaming arena, and they’ve earned that spot for good reason.

The ability to game for long hours with little to no fatigue is practically priceless, and it’s one of the main reasons lightweight mice are becoming so popular.

Besides that, the performance aspect is also just as important. A lighter mouse can be maneuvered more easily and can perform more intricate movements with less focus, thanks to their lighter weight.

In the world of professional gaming, the small advantages a lightweight mouse provides can be the difference between getting a paycheck and heading home empty-handed.

In terms of drawbacks compared to heavy mice, there is not much to speak of. Yes, some heavier mice can be sturdier, but in today’s day and age, even the lightest gaming mice have stellar build quality.

The bottom line is that if you can manage to hold a lightweight gaming mouse comfortably, then you should definitely get one.

  1. There are some very good mices out there and I didn’t Know. During all this period that we have been on lockdown, I have become so used to playing adventure games as opposed to before when I only loved football games with the game consoles. For adventure games however, i would really need a good mouse that not only is responsive but also lightweight. I went for the Cooler Master MM711. Ticks a great deal of what I want in a mouse.

  2. I’m an avid gamer and I play most of my games on consoles. However, there are some games I enjoy playing on my PC and that’s whewhen my mouse comes in handy. The FinalMouse Ultralight 2 Cape Town looks sleek and I like the design as well as the positioning of the side buttons. It also seems like it’ll be easy on the wrist and it’s my personal preference above the others.

  3. These are nice products to choose from, and I am definitely sharing this with my brother who’s a gamer. While I am happy with my Mighty Mouse, I am looking for an ergonomic one. My friends suggest a vertical mouse, but I am hesitating because of its design. The honeycomb design and lightweight feature from your review make me rethink my options. I have small hands and I hate a heavy mouse (even heavy-looking ones) so that Cape Town one might suit my need. I also checked out the Glorious, and man, I didn’t know it’s that expensive for a non-wireless one! Anyway, thanks for this info and I learned a lot more about a gaming mouse (I didn’t know PTFE can be used in a mouse) other than RGB lighting on a pointing device that looks the same to me. Thanks again and cheers! – A

  4. Thank you for giving us all these options. I really liked 3 or 4 of them very much and it was a bit hard for me to settle with just one. But I think I have finally made up my mind and my pick is Glorious Model O-. I think the 67g are perfect and I love the beautiful design. Can’t wait to game with it!

    • Great! The Glorious Model O- is one of the most popular gaming mice on the market today, I am sure you will love it.
      Cheers!

      Richard

  5. As an owner of the Razer Viper Ultimate and avid gamer, I can agree that this is an awesome gaming mouse and worthy of your 9.8 score. It is very light and perfect for long gaming sessions. Feels great in the hand.  I have bookmarked this post as I like the look of some of your other recommendations.  Great post

  6. I shudder to think what those mice are going to look like in a few years time, I have a Logitech G502 and dirt already gets caught in the rubber grip patterns what’s it going to be like on these mice?

    • Hi Stacy,
These mice are usually a bit harder to maintain simply because the way they are designed. They just need to be cleaned more often and handled with care and you should have no issues whatsoever.

      Richard

  7. I’m very surprised the Logitech Pro X Superlight isn’t on this list. It weighs just under 63 grams and offers their lightspeed wireless connection, which is practically no slower than a wired connection. While it is more on the expensive side, it is very light and has lasted me a long time. I have yet to have a Logitech mouse break or need replacement. If you are reading this before having made your decision on what mouse you’re going to buy, I highly recommend looking into this mouse as well.

    • Hey Chris,
I will be updating the article and adding new lightweight mice in a couple of months, so I will make sure to include the Pro X as well.
      Thanks for the heads-up!
      Richard
