Our Rating:   9.8/10

If you’re familiar with Lian Li, it’s probably because of their high-quality glass and metal cases, which are designed with powerful components and expansive cooling systems in mind.

If you’ve got your eye on one of their large, aquarium-like cases, the ideal cooler to complement it with is the Lian Li Galahad AIO UNI FAN SL Edition White.

Keep in mind this cooler is available in both 240mm and 360mm versions. For this list, we’re looking at the 360mm version, which uses a low profile, high-density radiator, and three ARGB UNI SL120 fans, which run at an almost imperceptible 20 dB. The main thing you’ll notice about this cooler is how unobtrusive it is, especially for a 360mm cooler.

In addition to that, the quality of this cooler is top-notch. The Lian Li Uni fans are easily one of the best radiator fans available on the market, plus each component of this cooler feels sturdy and high-quality–From the radiator to hoses and the pump head, this cooler is built to last.

The Galahad AIO is made primarily out of machined aluminum with white fans and other white trim elements. As such, it’s going to integrate well with any all-white PC build you have in mind, but the prominent metal elements will give the appearance of a sturdier, more powerful machine.

The fans mounted on the Lian Li Galahad are all white, and instead of the classic RGB ring, use a partial octagon design that covers the top and bottom edges of the fan case.

Of course, this means you don’t get the shimmering ring effect that makes RGB fans so appealing, but it gives it a more sci-fi reactor feel that complements the large amounts of polished aluminum quite nicely.

Additionally, the pump head has an addressable RGB ring that can be synced with the fans and a magnetic cap that allows you to cover the Lian Li logo. That little bit of customization is a nice touch. We have a ton of nice things to say about Lian-Li, but their logo is pretty uninspiring.

Similar to the NZXT Kraken, this is a large cooler with fairly short tubes, which doesn’t give you a lot of options for how you install it or lay the cables/tubes. It will need to be mounted on the top of your case, so once again, take a second to make sure there’s a full 360mm mount on the case you’ve chosen for the purpose.

Aside from the quality construction and attractive design, this cooler also performs extremely well. On a test performed on the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, the Galahad managed to cool the processor to 48°C over ambient at 90% load, which was only 1°C more than the Liquid Freezer II from Arctic (which sadly doesn’t come in white), one of the best-performing AIOs on the market.

This shows how capable this cooler is, and no matter what processor you use, it will keep it nice and cool, even if you plan on overclocking it.

As far as noise levels, we measured 29 dB(A), which, again, is in line with the best coolers on the market. For reference, 29 dB(A) is the equivalent of someone whispering to your ear.

Overall, the Lian Li Galahad is our selection for the best white AIO cooler in 2024. It’s got everything could hope for–Top-notch build quality, attractive aesthetics with vibrant RGB, top-of-the-line performance, and low noise levels. And while the price is a bit higher for a 360mm AIO, it feels fair for what you’re getting.

2. NZXT Kraken Z73 RGB White

Radiator Dimensions: 394 x 121 x 27 mm / 15.5 x 4.8 x 1.1” | Fan Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25 mm / 4.7 x 4.7  x 1” | Fan Speed: 500 – 1500 ± 300 RPM | Noise Volume: 22 – 33 dBA | Warranty: 6 years

NZXT Kraken Z73 RGB White

REASONS TO BUY

  • Powerful cooling
  • The display is both functional and stylish
  • Excellent RGB elements
  • Quiet operation even under heavy loads
  • 6-year warranty
  • High-quality build
  • Great CAM control software

REASONS TO AVOID

  • The tubing is shorter than we’d like to see for such a larger cooler and can make space management more difficult
  • Premium price

Our Rating:   9.7/10

The NZXT Kraken Z73 comes in at a slightly higher price point than most of the other coolers on our list, but it’s worth every cent when it comes to both performance and design. If you’re looking for a premium white cooler to complement the powerful CPU you’ve built your PC around, you’re not going to find many options better than the NZXT Kraken Z73.

The NZXT Kraken Z is available in a variety of configurations, but for the purpose of this list, we’re looking at the Z73 RGB 360mm model.

Like all of the most powerful CPU coolers, the NZXT Kraken Z is a liquid cooler, which means that the power of the cooler is going to be largely dictated by how large the radiator is and, to a lesser extent, the fans that are being used to force air across the radiator fins.

The Kraken Z73 uses a 360mm radiator, which provides a cooling capacity that’s going to be unparalleled by anything short of a custom cooling loop.

The most exciting thing about the Kraken Z is the LCD screen equipped on the pump head. Some brands started implementing LCD screens on their coolers, but NZXT was the first one to do it back in 2021.

By default, it’s set up to display the temperature of the liquid in the unit in real-time, but using the NZXT CAM control software, it can also be adjusted to display logos or other simple images.

Like most liquid coolers, the Kraken Z73 comes with fans pre-installed. In some cases, this is a mixed blessing since cheaper coolers or products from less reputable brands can use fans that are something of an afterthought.

Fortunately, NZXT is a well-established manufacturer with a specialization in air coolers as well as liquid cooling. The fans included are their AER RGB 2 fans, which run quietly (33 decibels at max speed) and do an excellent job displacing the necessary amount of air as long as you’re smart with your placement and have a case with good ventilation/circulation.

The lighting from the fans and the display screen are both clean and easy to sync with other NZXT fans or coolers. As a possible downside, the screws and stabilizers are black, so depending on how you install the cooler, you might not get the full effect of the white cooler.

The performance is excellent, as you’d expect from such an expensive cooler. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that the fans on the RGB and non-RGB models aren’t the same.

The non-RGB model uses the older Aer P fans, which max out at 2000 RPM but are a bit louder at 36 dB(A), while the RGB version uses the newer Aer RGB 2 fans, which max out at 1500 RPM but are noticeably quieter, at around 3 dB(A) less.

This results in lower cooling performance from the RGB version but a quieter overall operation. The performance is still among the best, but if you plan on overclocking and pushing your system to the limit, there are better-performing options available, such as the Capellix H150i (number 4 on this list).

Lastly, if you don’t have the space for a full 360mm cooler, the Kraken also has a 240mm variant that also performs very well.

All in all, the NZXT Kraken Z73 is the perfect choice for enthusiasts who put emphasis on aesthetics before everything else. The design quality and performance are top-notch, and the addition of a small LCD screen that can display real-time temperature is a nice touch. If you’re building a high-end white-themed rig, the Z73 is the perfect cooler to buy–If you can afford the premium price.

3. NZXT Kraken X53 RGB White

Radiator Dimensions: 275 x 123 x 30 mm / 10.8 x 4.8 x 1.2” | Fan Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25 mm / 4.7 x 4.7  x 1” | Fan Speed: 500 – 1500 ± 300 RPM | Noise Volume: 22 – 33 dBA | Warranty: 6 years

NZXT Kraken X53 RGB White

REASONS TO BUY

  • Accessible both in terms of budget and size
  • Great cooling performance
  • Bright RGB
  • High-quality build
  • 6-year warranty (best in business)
  • Quiet operation
  • Great CAM control software

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Cables and tubes are a bit shorter and can make installation and management difficult
  • Better performing coolers available

Our Rating:   9.6/10

In a lot of ways, the NZXT Kraken X53 RGB white is a smaller version of the Kraken Z73 without temperature monitoring. The design, components, and construction are the same, but the price is a lot lower.

So if you can forgo the cool LCD display, the X53 is an excellent choice if you’re looking to get into liquid cooling on more of a budget.

The main thing you’ll notice about the Kraken X series vs. the Kraken Z series is that all of X series products are $50 (or more) cheaper than their Z series counterparts.

A lot of times, when you see that much of a price difference in the same brand, you’re looking at major differences in features and performance, but all you’re missing out on is the display screen on the hub. The X53 (and the rest of the X series) still has a vibrant RGB ring around the hub but just displays the NZXT logo.

Apart from that, it uses the same Aer RGB 2 fans, which provide the same level of cooling and max out at 33 decibels. That’s a fair bit louder than you might see from brands like Arctic or Lian Li, but you’ll still find the overall experience to be quiet if you’re not an overclocking maniac.

For this review, we’re looking at the 240mm version of the X53, but keep in mind it’s also available in 280mm and 360mm versions. The 240mm is nice because it’s going to be compatible with almost all cases and form factors (with the exception of some mini-itx cases) while still absolutely running rings around any default cooler your CPU might have shipped with.

Compared to the X73, it costs almost half as much, and unless you plan on doing some major overclocking of a 16+ core CPU, you probably won’t notice much difference.

Speaking of processors, we tested the X53 on a Ryzen 9 7950X, and the results were solid but far from the best. At idle, the X53 was able to cool the CPU to 39°C, and while gaming, the temperature rose to 73°C. That’s 6°C more than the Z73 at idle and 9°C more while gaming.

We realize this is not a fair comparison due to the size of these coolers, but even when compared to some of the best 240mm coolers, such as the Arctic Freezer II, the X53 doesn’t keep up with around 6-8% worse cooling performance across the board. Still, it will cool all modern CPUs with ease, but keep this in mind if you’re looking for a top-performing cooler.

Lastly, if you’re looking for a pure white cooler, you’ll be disappointed to note that the fans are anchored with black screws and stabilizers. The major elements are still all white, and we’ve found a bit of black trim can help unify the whole and distract from any unevenness, but it’s still a design choice that most other brands have managed to avoid.

With all this being said, the NZXT Kraken X53 RGB White is still one of the best white 240mm AIO coolers available this year, and it comes in at almost half the price of premium options like the Z73. If you’re going for a more compact but still powerful build, including ITX form factors, this is going to be a great choice.

4. Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix White

Radiator Dimensions: 397 x 120 x 27 mm / 15.6 x 4.7 x 1.1” | Fan Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25 mm / 4.7 x 4.7  x 1” | Fan Speed: Up to 2400 RPM | Noise Volume: 10 – 37 dBA | Warranty: 5 years

Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix White

REASONS TO BUY

  • Powerful cooling performance
  • High levels of RGB customization
  • Excellent price point, especially for Corsair products
  • Clean white design
  • High-quality construction
  • 5-year warranty

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Threading on screws can be inconsistent and make installation difficult
  • Higher price
  • Loud at 100% RPM

Our Rating:   9.6/10

There’s a lot of good things to say about the Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix, but the most surprising is that it’s actually quite a ways off from being the most expensive entry on our list.

Corsair is in an elite tier and has been there long enough to have a lot of credibility with gamers, so they are able to name their own price.

Usually, that price is a solid 20% higher than their competitors, especially for iCUE RGB components, but the iCUE H150i Elite Capellix is almost $100 cheaper than the NZXT Kraken Z73 while providing outstanding cooling performance.

The highlight of this cooler is, somewhat ironically, the fans. Corsair’s ML 120 RGB fans are some of the most powerful and precise for sale in 2024.

A three-pack of them will often retail for over half the price of this all-in-one unit, so the fact that you’re getting three of them really takes the value of this up to a whole new level.

The ML120s are fairly quiet fans, but running at max speed (an impressive 2400 RPM), they max out a little about 30 decibels, so you’ll definitely hear them at max RPM.

However, the point of a cooler with a large surface area like this one is the avoid the fans having to work at max speed at all times, and at the base rate of 400RPM, they produce a barely perceptible 8 dB.

The lights throughout the entire cooler, including the 33 RGB LEDs included in the pump head, can be controlled with Corsair iCUE control software.

Additionally, it ships with an iCUE commander core, which will allow you to easily synchronize other fans and lighting elements you have installed in your PC.

Design-wise, the pump head has a lower profile and a square design, which makes for an overall subtler design and could make the smaller 240mm and 120mm variants. The Corsair logo is unmistakable but not intrusive the way some other branded pump heads are.

The iCUE H150i Elite Capellix is also going to be the best choice for an all-white build, with the only darker elements being the screws and fan hubs.

Performance-wise, the H150i Capellix blows most competitors out of the water. As far as the CPU coolers we tested, this is the best-performing 360mm cooler. In a test on a Ryzen 9 7950X, this cooler was able to cool the CPU to 37°C at idle and to 70°C at 100% load–3°C cooler than the Z73 and X73 and 2°C cooler than the Galahad 360 AIO.

The Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix is easily one of the best-performing white AIO coolers this year. It’s also quiet and will give you the capacity you need to seriously overclock your CPU for any processor-heavy games or programs you’re looking to run.

What really makes it a great choice is the quality that you’d expect from Corsair, both from the level of RGB customization available and the maglev fans that offer a scaling range of super quiet cooling power.

5. ASUS ROG Strix LC 360 RGB White Edition

Radiator Dimensions: 394 x 121 x 27 mm / 15.5 x 4.8 x 1.1” | Fan Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25 mm / 4.7 x 4.7  x 1” | Fan Speed: 800 ~ 2500 ± 10% RPM | Noise Volume: Up to 37.6 dBA | Warranty: 5 years

ASUS ROG Strix LC 360 RGB White Edition

REASONS TO BUY

  • Incredible performance
  • Great build quality
  • 5-year manufacturer’s warranty
  • Rich and vibrant RGB lighting
  • Also available in 240mm version
  • Clean white aesthetics

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Premium price
  • Loud at max RPM

Our Rating:   9.5/10

ASUS’s Republic of Gamers line has long been a respected name in the PC gaming community. Only high-quality products wear the Republic of Gamers badge, and the ASUS ROG Strix LC 360 RGB White Edition is no different.

Obviously marketed toward gamers, the ASUS ROG Strix LC 360 RGB is dripping in RGB LEDs. This 360mm cooler features bright and rich lights on its pump head and on all three of its 120mm fans. If your machine is flush with RGB, you’ll need this cooler to complement your setup.

You’ll have full control over the lights thanks to ASUS Aura Sync software. Aura Sync is a fantastic inclusion because it gives you full control of your cooler in addition to customizing the lighting. You can swap between cooling profiles and adjust the fan and pump speeds without having to access the BIOS.

Aside from the striking RGBs, this cooler has a simple design that doesn’t differentiate much from the usual AIO cooler formula. You have the typical chunky pump head, though the ASUS pump head is stylized to resemble a gear, giving this cooler an industrial look.

Its tubing is sleeved, protecting it against leakage and wear, and is an appropriate length that allows for easy installation. Its fan housing is also very solid and mitigates noise fairly well. You’ll be delighted at the quality of this ASUS cooler, as ROG products are always of high quality.

As for cooling performance, the ASUS ROG Strix LC 360 RGB White Edition proves to be amongst the best in its class. On an Intel i9 CPU, we measured the machine at 35°C at idle and only 73°C under load with all cores at 5GHz. This basically means the LC 360 will keep any CPU temperatures lower than most coolers.

Probably the biggest drawback of this cooler is the price, as this cooler is quite expensive. It’s one of the most expensive coolers on the market, but it does come with a 5-year warranty.

It also gets loud at 38 dB(A) at max RPM, which is definitely noticeable. Keep these things in mind if you’re thinking about pulling the trigger on this one.

When you see the Republic of Gamers brand, you know the product will be high-quality. In that regard, the ASUS ROG Strix LC 360 RGB White Edition lives up to its branding. Its cooling performance is high-level, and its RGB implementation is beautifully done.

Your only hang-up may be its high price, but there’s also a 240mm version available for those that are more frugal or don’t have the space to accommodate a 360mm radiator cooler.

ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo

REASONS TO BUY

  • Affordable price
  • Top cooling performance in its class
  • Fantastic noise levels
  • Excellent build quality
  • 10-year manufacturer’s warranty
  • Clean all-white design

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Large footprint with push/pull configuration
  • No RGB

Our Rating:   9.9/10

The clean lines, great price point, and solid cooling performance make the ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo a fantastic choice for someone looking for a white air CPU cooler.

In terms of aesthetics, this cooler looks both modern and aggressive. It’ll be right at home in an all-white tower or is the perfect choice for someone looking for something a little different with regard to color. The Arctic logo is nestled between in-your-face fan scoops. Aside from the mean styling, this cooler is rather standard in form.

The traditional form doesn’t mean it’s lacking in efficiency. Arctic has designed the Freezer 34 Esports Duo with an optimized quad-heatpipe and cooling fin stack to funnel the air through more efficiently. This provides you with increased performance in a smaller footprint.

The ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo boasts two 120mm fans capable of 200 to 2100 RPM. The fans also boast dynamic fluid bearings that improve this air cooler’s longevity and allow its fans to spin with ease. Additionally, the fans come encased in a rubberized housing, which does a great job of keeping the noise levels to a minimum.

Installation of the ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo is a simple affair. You’ll install the heatsinks first and then connect the fans with PWM headers. This allows you to control the fans’ RPM easily. The cables are long enough to connect to any motherboard with ease.

On the performance side of things, the ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo puts up some pretty impressive numbers for an air cooler. In a test performed on an Intel i7, the Freezer 34 Esports Duo cooled the CPU to 59°C under load, only 8°C warmer than the highly-rated Thermaltake Floe Riing 360 liquid cooler.

When the test machine was overclocked, the temperatures rose to 76°C, still within striking distance of the top spot held by the Thermaltake AIO. Given the low price of the ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo, this high level of cooling is incredible and makes this cooler a great value.

As far as noise levels are concerned, the ARCTIC cooler is right where you’d want it to be. It only produced 28 dB(A) at 1175 RPM during the test run, something you likely won’t even notice when the cooler is nestled inside your tower. It’s apparent that the rubberized fan housing is doing its job admirably.

To top everything off, ARCTIC offers a 10-year warranty for this particular cooler, something unheard of in the industry. That alone is a good indication of how quality the product is and how much ARCTIC stands behind this particular cooler.

Overall, the ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo is our selection for the best white CPU air cooler in 2024–It’s got it all: impressive build quality, great looks, a 10-year warranty, and, most importantly, a performance that is on par with coolers that cost more than twice, even three times as much. If you’re looking for a quality yet affordable white air cooler, the ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo is our number one recommendation.

2. be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 White

Overall Dimensions: 121 x 130 x 163 mm / 4.8 x 5.1 x 6.4” | Fan Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25 mm / 4.7 x 4.7  x 1” | Fan Speed: Up to 1600 RPM | Noise Volume: Up to 24.4 dBA | Warranty: 3 years

be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 White

REASONS TO BUY

  • One of the best-performing air coolers in 2024
  • Very quiet operation
  • Compatible with most modern CPUs
  • Easy to install
  • High-quality materials used

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Black fan and no RGB
  • Expensive for an air cooler
  • Short warranty

Our Rating:   9.7/10

Air cooling can sometimes get a bad rap because of its perception as the cheaper, default option. However, if you’re willing to spend a little bit more money, you can get something highly functional, like the be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 White.

The be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 White is on the expensive side for an airflow CPU cooler but is still going to be quite a bit less expensive than even a 120mm liquid cooler. It’s also going to provide a level of performance that’s going to accommodate high-level usage of 6 and 8-core CPUs.

Serious overclockers will still want to go with liquid cooling, but most users, including a majority of gamers and even some streamers, will be able to keep their rig running at peak efficiency with a larger airflow cooler like this.

Fans from be quiet! Are designed with special grooves to maximize air displacement while keeping noise levels low. At a max of 24.4 dB, this is going to be one of the quietest air CPU coolers you can get.

For maximum performance, you’re going to want to make sure you get at least a couple more case fans to keep air moving consistently throughout the case. Even if you go with quieter fans like Shadow Wings 2 (the fan equipped on this cooler), the cumulative noise can start to be noticeable.

Visually, there’s not a lot to recommend this cooler. It’s quite large and has a bulky, industrial look that, while efficient, is going to stand out and not always in a positive way. The shape and size are carefully calculated to not interfere with your RAM, but it’s still going to loom over them.

The radiator is white, but all of be quiet!’s fans are black and do not feature RGB elements, so if you like the all-white construction with custom lighting that you’ll find on Corsair (or any of the other entries on this list), this might be a bit of a disappointment.

All in all, The be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 White is going to be an unavoidable centerpiece to any build that uses a glass panel or otherwise has an open design. It’s probably going to be best for people who value function much more highly than form, though if you like the image of a skyscraper towering over the rest of your motherboard, more power to you.

3. ID-COOLING SE-224-XT White

Overall Dimensions: 154 x 120 x 73 mm / 6.1 x 4.7 x 2.9” | Fan Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25 mm / 4.7 x 4.7  x 1” | Fan Speed: 700 ± 200 ~ 1800 ± 10% RPM | Noise Volume: 15.2 – 32.5 dBA | Warranty: 2 years

ID-COOLING SE-224-XT White

REASONS TO BUY

  • Excellent build quality
  • Competitively priced
  • Great cooling performance
  • Bright LED lighting
  • Compact design

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Louder at max RPM
  • Only a 2-year warranty

Our Rating:   9.6/10

The ID-COOLING SE-224-XT White is a quad-pipe air cooler designed for the bargain hunter. Its low price point makes it an extremely attractive option for those in the market for an all-white air CPU cooler.

If you’re going for a pure-white aesthetic in your PC tower, the ID-COOLING SE-224-XT White certainly looks the part. It’s dressed in flat white paint and even features white LED lights on its fan.

Aside from that, ID-COOLING isn’t seeking to reinvent the wheel as far as air cooler design is concerned, and the SE-224-XT will look very familiar if you have experience with other air coolers.

Now, the SE-224-XT boasts a single 120mm fan. It spins between 700 and 1800 RPM and outputs 76.16 CFM, though ID-COOLING cautions their official RPM measurements may be off by about 200 RPM. Simply put, this cooler has the power to tackle most cooling jobs.

Installation of the ID-COOLING SE-224-XT is a little more involved than the installation of other coolers, requiring a great deal of screwdriver work. In the end, though, it’s worth it for quiet operation. Fortunately, this cooler comes with a robust and easy-to-follow manual to aid you every step of the way.

As far as cooling performance is concerned, the ID-COOLING SE-224-XT will almost blow you away. It’s one of the best white air coolers on the market and even challenged the venerable ARCTIC Liquid Freezer 280 AIO performed on a Ryzen 5.

At stock clock speeds and under overclock, the SE-224-XT came within 5°C of the Liquid Freezer, a cooler known for its incredible performance. It’s incredibly impressive to see an inexpensive air cooler rival a much more expensive and highly regarded AIO when it comes to straight cooling performance.

Overall, there’s a lot to love about this cooler. It represents incredible value at an amazingly low price, especially considering its dazzling cooling performance. It challenges cooling options that cost many times more and can do it while looking sleek and stylish.

It even features a white LED light to go with the white-out theme. If you’re building an all-white themed PC or are simply just looking for one of the best cheap white air coolers on the market, you have to consider the ID-COOLING SE-224-XT White.

Our Rating:   9.5/10

The DeepCool GAMMAXX 400 White is one of the highest-regarded air coolers on the market, and that reputation is hard-earned.

Firstly, the GAMMAXX 400 looks okay with its white LED light illuminating the inside of your tower. However, an all-white build would be decent with this cooler installed. Its slim design also contributes to its aesthetics while being a functional advantage that allows for improved memory clearance. It looks a little bit basic due to its exposed heat pipes, but that lends to its trim, hot-rod style.

It’s also an amazing value at its price point. You will be hard-pressed to find a white cooler that performs as well as this one at a more reasonable price.

The DeepCool GAMMAXX 400 White is compatible with almost every major processor on the market in 2024. You’ll have support for the Intel LGA 20XX, 1366, 1200, 1700, 1156, 1155, 1151, 1150, and 775. AMD socket support includes the AM5, AM4, FM2, FM1, AM3+, AM3, AM2+, and AM2.

Installation of the DeepCool GAMMAXX 400 White is a breeze. It’s very straightforward, and if you have any experience with setting up an air cooler, you will be finished in no time. The included manual guides you every step of the way, so just about anyone can install this cooler without any issues.

Of course, the most important aspect of a CPU cooler is how well it actually cools your CPU. The DeepCool GAMMAXX 400 White does a tremendous job of cooling, even the beefier processors. It’s not designed for machines that do a large amount of overclocking, but a test on a Ryzen 5 3600 demonstrated its solid cooling performance.

It cooled the 3600 to 42°C at idle and to 80°C under 100% load. The Ryzen 5 is a considerable performer, so it requires a powerful cooling solution, and the DeepCool GAMMAXX 400 White is a great match.

Another test on an Intel i7 saw the DeepCool GAMMAXX 400 White outperform other leaders in the slim air cooler market like the be quiet! Shadow Rock Slim. The DeepCool cooled the i7 to a lovely 52°C over ambient under load, 2°C better than the Shadow Rock, and 4°C better than the Noctua NH-U12S.

All in all, the DeepCool GAMMAXX 400 White is a decent air cooler that has a home in a lot of towers and not just white-themed ones. Its cooling performance is great, especially if you consider its price point. It’s slightly louder than other coolers and certainly doesn’t look the best, but again, for the money, it’s a great pick-up.

5. ARCTIC Freezer A13 X

Overall Dimensions: 137 x 109 x 86 mm / 5.4 x 4.3 x 3.4” | Fan Dimensions: 92 mm / 3.6” | Fan Speed: 300 – 2000 RPM | Noise Volume: Up to 24.5 dBA | Warranty: 6 years

ARCTIC Freezer 7 X

REASONS TO BUY

  • Great design
  • Quality build
  • Budget-friendly price
  • Extremely silent
  • 6-year manufacturer’s warranty

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Only compatible with the AM4 socket
  • Disappointing cooling ability

Our Rating:   9.3/10

Featuring a white fan inside a black housing, the ARCTIC Freezer A13 X isn’t a purely white air cooler, but it looks stunning, perhaps the most eye-catching on the list.

Inside the black fan housing rests a white 92mm fan. The fan blades are aggressively stylized and give this cooler a mean appearance, while the ARCTIC logo sits in the center of the fan. It won’t look out of place in any machine, but those shopping for a pure white cooler will need to look elsewhere.

The ARCTIC Freezer A13 X is designed exclusively for the AMD AM4 processor. It’s a part of a larger line of air coolers, each designed for a specific processor. Intel users will want to check out the Freezer I13 X (On Amazon).

Featuring 3 heat pipes and 44 fins on its cooling tower, the ARCTIC Freezer A13 X is incredibly easy to install. While most aftermarket cooling solutions, aside from custom loops, are typically pretty easy to work with, the ARCTIC Freezer A13 X is amongst the simplest.

You just need the bracket that came with your AM4 or AM5 CPU (these are the same). You’ll simply bolt the cooler into place and clip on the fan housing that ships preinstalled. You won’t need to mess around mounting the fan itself; it simply clicks into place without even the turn of a screwdriver. A manual is available by scanning a QR code.

While the ARCTIC Freezer A13 X is a capable cooler, it lags behind others on the market when it comes to thermal performance. A test performed on an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X showed the Freezer A13 X wasn’t as powerful of a cooler as the ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo, another cooler featured on our list.

At stock speeds, the A13 X cooled the Ryzen to 68°C, about 6°C warmer than the Esports Duo. The Freezer A13 X only outperformed the AMD Wraith Spire by about 2.5°C.

When the Ryzen was overclocked, the results remained the same. The Freezer A13 X continued to trail the Esports Duo and only performed marginally better than the stock coolers.

Despite its rather mediocre cooling abilities, the ARCTIC Freezer A13 X will eventually find a home in a tower that doesn’t need more than stock cooling but is looking to improve its looks and reduce its noise level. The Freezer A13 X runs much quieter than the stock AMD options and even operates at a lower noise level than the similar Freezer 34 Esports Duo.

Someone searching for a white CPU cooler doesn’t have too many options. The vast majority of coolers on the market are primarily black, so opting for a white cooler is going against the grain. The ARCTIC Freezer A13 X is a solid option boasting a white fan blade that’s sure to be eye-catching in your tower. It’s modestly priced and offers respectable noise-dampening for someone who doesn’t need robust cooling performance.
