Our Rating:   9.8/10

If you think of what a laptop should be, you’ll get a pretty good idea of why Dell’s XPS 13 7390 makes the top of our list. You want something portable, good-looking, fairly powerful, but not heavy. We’re not the only ones that think this offering checks all those boxes. It’s also won awards from Digital Trends, Spark Designs, and Laptop Magazine. This is the one to beat, and we haven’t found anyone who can yet.

Dell has always had fantastic laptops in its lineup as long as you knew where to look, and this compact workhorse is no exception.

The main reason this is at the top of our list is processing power. It boasts a six-core Intel i7 processor with 16 GB of RAM, enough to comfortably run multiple programs at once and to perform more demanding tasks like photo or video editing.

The 1 TB storage also makes it a great choice for creative endeavors. You can also customize it, increasing the storage to 2 TB or dropping it to 512 GB if you need more storage or a break in the price.

And as we mentioned, it’s very compact: only half an inch thick and just under three pounds. It’s barely heavier than the average tablet or Chromebook (lighter, in some cases) but with substantially more power.

Now, the 13.3-inch screen might be a little on the small side, but with an ultra-HD 3840×2160 resolution, the image is going to be incredibly crisp. It also has a touch screen, which you might have mixed feelings about, but will come in handy for most of what it’s designed to do. Be warned, it does not fold into tablet mode, so if that’s something you wanted or were expecting, you’ll find a rare miss from this one.

Besides that, there’s no shortage of utility features in the build, either. It has both USB and USB-C ports, an SD card port, a built-in HD webcam, Wave MaxxAudio speakers, and a combination audio jack. It also has a latching lid for extra security in transit.

It advertises a 19-hour battery life, more than enough to get through a long day of work or school, even with a commute, though that will drop if you’re performing high-demand tasks.

The main downside is that the only graphics capability is the onboard Intel graphics processing. It’ll deliver enough juice for photo and video editing, for example, but is going to be lacking for more intensive gaming needs. It’s a little on the pricey side, though by no means the most expensive on this list, and well worth the money.

Overall, this is going to be your best bet if you need a laptop for a wide range of tasks and don’t want to discover down the line that it’s slow or can’t do some of them. Students and creative professionals are going to get great use of this one as well, but if you’re a student worried about the price tag, or a content creator who needs a bit more power or a bigger display, we’ve got you covered later down the line.

But, with a combination of beautiful aesthetics, high performance, plenty of storage and RAM, lightweight design, and long battery life, the XPS 13 is one of the best white laptops available on the market in 2023.

2. Alienware X15

Display: 15.6” IPS | Screen Resolution: FullHD (1920 x 1080) | CPU: 11th Generation Intel Core i7-11800H GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 | RAM: 16 GB | Storage: 1 TB SSD | Battery Life: 6 Hours | Weight: 5 lbs / 2.3 kg

Alienware x15 R1

REASONS TO BUY

  • One of the best gaming laptops period
  • Fantastic gaming performance
  • Beautiful white design with RGB
  • Extremely high refresh rate (360hz)
  • Thin and relatively portable
  • Powerful CPU and GPU
  • Plenty of RAM and storage

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Noisy fans when under heavier loads
  • Heavier than similar options
  • Shorter battery life

Our Rating:   9.7/10

For a long time, Dell’s Alienware gaming laptops were primarily black. They had an angular design and usually red or green lighting, creating a warlike look that other gaming brands have been emulating ever since.

More recently, Alienware has been leaving towards silver and white panels with blue logos, creating an ethereal look that makes the gaming power inside seem effortless. The Alienware x15 is an excellent example of this and is not just one of the best white laptops in 2023 but one of the best gaming laptops in 2023.

The Alienware x15 is thin for a gaming laptop but does lean a bit toward the heavy side. It’s only 0.63” thick, so it will fit easily in most bags and carrying cases.

However, at 5.2 pounds (2.36 kg), it’s a bit heavier than you’d want if you’re going to be carrying it everywhere. Similar models, like the Razer Blade 15 or the ROG Zephyrus M16, are about as thin but fully a pound lighter.

The internal specs on the Alienware x15 are really good. You get an i7-11800H, which is an 8-core, 4.6 GHz CPU and a lot of power for a gaming laptop. This particular model has the RTX 3070 equipped, but there are 3060 and 3080 models available too.

Further, it’s available with either 16GB or 32GB of RAM and a full TB of storage, which is always nice if you’ve been hitting Steam sales. With this amount of processing power, you’ll be able to run all of the latest releases, including demanding titles like Cyberpunk.

Now, Alienware went with a relatively low resolution (1920×1080) but a very high refresh rate (360Hz) for the screen. This is fairly common in gaming laptops, especially those targeted at professional or high-level competitive gamers. The FHD resolution still looks fine on a screen this size, and the high refresh rate makes for a more responsive gaming experience.

Input is kind of a mixed bag with the x15. The keyboard is really nice, especially for a laptop. It has good feedback and travel distance and very little wobble. It’s not placed very well for typing, so if you’re a student and need something to do double duty for writing reports, this might not be it.

The trackpad is very small and unintuitive to use. For gaming, you’ll obviously be using an actual mouse, but even on a gaming laptop, the trackpad still gets used, and a lot of Alienware’s competitors have managed to put a decent trackpad on their laptops.

If you know anything about gaming laptops, you probably know that thin usually means poor thermals. The x15 isn’t bad, but it definitely does a lot of noisy work trying to keep the laptop cool. If you’re not going to get a cooling pad, maybe even one with a fan, you’ll find the powerful components are being consistently throttled by the so-so thermals.

As with most gaming laptops, battery life is going to be the biggest issue here. In some test environments, other reviewers have been able to get it up to six hours, but in terms of real-world use, you’ll barely be cracking 4 hours and well under half that if you try to boot up a game.

Overall, the Alienware x15 is a fantastic laptop and arguably the best white gaming laptop in 2023. It offers amazing gaming performance, beautiful aesthetics, and a super-responsive display for fast-paced, competitive games. It’s not the cheapest out there, but it’s definitely worth the money.

3. MSI Prestige 14 White

Display: 14” Thin Bezel | Screen Resolution: UHD (3840 x 2160) | CPUIntel Core i7-10510U GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (Max-Q) | RAM: 16 GB | Storage: 512 GB SSD | Battery Life: 9 Hours | Weight: 2.8 lbs / 1.3 kg

MSI Prestige 14 White

REASONS TO BUY

  • Has a dedicated graphics card
  • Plenty of performance for content creators
  • Attractive all-white design
  • Very sharp UHD screen
  • Highly portable
  • Light and compact

REASONS TO AVOID

  • The screen is on the small side for professionals
  • Uncomfortable heating issues

Our Rating:   9.6/10

If you’re a content creator or other creative professional, you’ve been a little left out up until now, especially if you work with video. Every other option has been not quite for you. Finally, we’re at the entry that’s got you in mind: the MSI Prestige.

First of all, the MSI prestige has 16GB of RAM, enough to edit video without tearing your hair out over the delay, and a six-core Intel i7 processor to help with multitasking.

It’s also one of the few laptops on the market that has a dedicated graphics card, an Nvidia GTX 1650, to be exact. That’s on the lower end if you plan on gaming, but for that, you should check out other laptops. Nonetheless, it will give you an extra boost when it comes to video and animation without adding too much weight.

It has a full range of utility features, including two USB-A and two USB-C ports, an SD card slot, and a dual-purpose audio jack. It also comes with a built-in webcam, as well as a microphone and speakers.

These are functional but not substantially better than what you’d find on most other laptops, so if you’re doing serious recording, editing, or mixing, you’re probably going to want your own headset, camera, and mic.

Moving along, the Prestige comes with a 14” ultra-HD display (3840 x 2160), which will allow for excellent image quality. The colors are sharp, and we’ve discovered no issues with the range of colors or color correction. On the other hand, it’s not hard to find a laptop with a 15.3” or even 17” display, so the small size is a point against it, no matter how good the image quality is.

Storage-wise, it’s got a 512GB SSD, which, again, compared to some other options, comes in a little light. We’ve got some 1 TB and 2 TB options on this list, so it can be done. That said, as a creative professional, you’re hopefully already backing up to an external hard drive or other devices, so the relatively small storage shouldn’t be a dealbreaker.

The MSI Prestige also holds its own in the portability department, coming in at just over 2.5 lbs. The 10-hour battery life also makes it a good fit for creative professionals on the go.

The biggest downside that we’ve discovered is that its cooling is less than ideal. There aren’t any issues with damage caused by overheating, but it does get hot to the touch during high-demanding operations and isn’t really comfortable to keep in your lap, so make sure to put some money aside for a cooling pad.

Overall, this is a great option for any content creator looking for an attractive, all-white laptop. There are a couple of minor issues that are holding us back from calling this a perfect choice for creative professionals.

However, the mix of portability and power is going to make it an excellent choice if you’re a student or a content creator who does a lot of work on the side. If you do some gaming as well, more power to you. The addition of the dedicated graphics card makes that more feasible.

4. LG Gram 14Z90P

Display: 14″ IPS | Screen Resolution: 1920 x 1200 | CPU: 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics | RAM: 8 GB | Storage: 256 GB SSD | Battery Life: 25.5 Hours | Weight: 2.2 lbs / 1 kg

LG Gram 14Z90P

REASONS TO BUY

  • Extremely lightweight
  • Longest battery life of any entry on our list
  • High-quality build
  • Decent performance
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Great speakers
  • Large, sharp display
  • Great connectivity

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Power-to-price trade-off could be better
  • Non-standard display
  • No dedicated GPU

Our Rating:   9.5/10

As the name might suggest, the LG Gram is an extremely lightweight laptop, but that’s not the only thing that makes it our top choice for portability.

For starters, it’s got a slim, geometric design and rubber feet for extra support and stability. It’ll safely fit in just about any bag or backpack you need to fit it in (though obviously one with a carrying compartment is still recommended) and boots quickly and quietly.

The LG Gram comes in just over two pounds, about as light as you’re going to get without being a tablet, and boasts a 12.3” x 8.5” body, barely larger than a sheet of paper. It’s 0.66” thick, which isn’t the thinnest on the market, but this is down to some extra durability, including military-grade durability tests and more optimized cooling.

Display-wise, you’re looking at a 14” IPS screen, which has a 1920 x 1200 resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio, whereas most screens are working on 16:9. There’s no substantial issue with this, you’ll just notice the difference if you change computers often. You might even appreciate the extra pixels if you do a lot of reading or writing with it.

You are, however, going to get a little less processing power from this one. It’s got a four-core Intel i5 and 8 GB of ram, so it’s still fully functional. If you’re a major multi-tasker or are looking to perform really demanding tasks, it’s going to be a bit sluggish.

It’s also a little bit light on storage, with only a 256GB hard drive. That’s still going to be fine unless you do a lot of photo or video editing (another reason this probably isn’t a great choice for creative professionals). On the other hand, if you really need storage, the combination of this laptop and an external hard drive is still going to be less than anything that, again, isn’t a tablet.

You get plenty of utility features as well, two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, a built-in webcam and microphone, and an SD card slot. The power button also features a fingerprint scanner for all-in-one booting and logging in.

Where this model really shines is the battery life. Obviously, battery life is one of the hardest metrics to pin down, but as long as you’re not doing anything too rigorous, this one will stretch to almost 26 hours over a full day. It charges quickly too, so if you do run it down more quickly, it doesn’t take too long to get back up and running.

All in all, this is a perfect white laptop for people who travel for work, hands down. If you don’t travel a lot or don’t travel outside your daily commute, there are going to be better options for you, no secret there. However, the battery life, durability, and weight of this laptop are top of the line, so if that’s your 1-2-3 (in any order), this is going to be your best bet.

5. HP Chromebook 14A-NA0020 Ceramic White

Display: 14” HD SVA anti-glare | Screen Resolution: 1366 x 768 | CPU: Intel Celeron N4000 GPU: Intel Graphics | RAM: 4 GB | Storage: 32 GB eMMC | Battery Life: Up to 13.5 hours | Weight: 3.3 lbs / 1.5 kg

HP Chromebook 14A-NA0020

REASONS TO BUY

  • Perfect for basic users
  • Budget-friendly
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Modified mobile OS makes applications run more smoothly

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Very limited storage space
  • Lower performance
  • Limited multitasking potential

Our Rating:   9.4/10

Thus far, most of our selections haven’t exactly been easy on the budget, mostly because of their focus on higher performance metrics. Of course, there are reasons why you’d want a cheaper offering. Sometimes it’s as simple as not having the budget for a more powerful machine.

Sometimes it’s because you already have a dedicated home computer and need something cheap and light to get online or make notes while you’re away from home. That’s where a Chromebook, specifically this model from HP, comes in handy.

In terms of raw performance, this, like any Chromebook or netbook, is going to be pretty minimal. It has a 2-core Intel Celeron processor, which will handle multiple browser tabs without difficulty, but any serious multitasking is going to be a slog. It also comes with 4GB of RAM, which is relatively low but actually excellent for the price and will more than handle any of the core features.

Unfortunately, memory is a major drawback. You only get 32 GB total, and a lot of that is going to be taken up by the computer’s core system files before you get around to adding your apps, photos, and files. Cloud storage is a must, and you’ll need to play a lot of file management if you’re going to use it for more than the basics.

The screen is a 14-inch, 1366×768 display. Again, this is on the lower side of modern specs. That said, this isn’t a computer you’re likely to use for a lot of video or graphically intensive activities. For basic word processing, internet access, and maybe some light mobile-style gaming, this is going to be more than sufficient.

While some netbooks still use a standard Windows OS, this one operates on Chrome OS. The interface is going to be a little unfamiliar if you’re used to Windows, but it’s a simple, intuitive system. You also get access to the Google Play store, meaning you have mobile-friendly versions of any games or apps you might need.

Further, it comes with a built-in webcam, audio jack, and HP stereo speakers, which won’t impress any audiophiles but are surprisingly nice for the price. It also comes with both USB and USB-C ports and an SD card reader.

At about 3.25 pounds and 12.8” x 8.6” x 0.7”, it’s extremely portable if a bit heavier than comparable laptops. There hasn’t been a lot of thought put into construction or style, but you could reasonably expect those to be a lower priority in a budget laptop.

The battery life is kind of a mixed bag on this one. You’ll get about 14 hours on light to moderate use, which isn’t bad but less than we’d like to see for the relative weight and performance. It does recharge quickly, 45 minutes to half, and a little under 2 hours to full, so you can pretty easily stretch it to a full day if you can find an hour to plug it in.

Again, if you’re set on a white color scheme and don’t have a big budget, this HP Chromebook is a perfect choice. It is going to be best for you if you know that you’re never going to use it for much besides internet access and maybe some light office tasks, which can be accessed using the Google Office suite of services. It doesn’t have a lot of power, but you’ll save a lot of money if you don’t need a lot of power.

6. Lenovo Chromebook 2-in-1 Blizzard White

Display: 11.6” IPS | Screen Resolution: HD (1366 X 768) | CPU: MediaTek MT8173C Processor GPU: PowerVR GX6250 | RAM: 4 GB | Storage: 32 GB eMMC | Battery Life: 10 Hours | Weight: 2.7 lbs / 1.2 kg

lenovo chromebook 2-in-1

REASONS TO BUY

  • Sturdy and portable
  • Functions as both a laptop and tablet
  • Good processing power for a Chromebook
  • Plenty of connectivity
  • Very budget-friendly

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Bulky for a tablet
  • Limited storage
  • Small screen

Our Rating:   9.3/10

There is an extent to which our choice for the best student laptop and the best budget laptop are largely interchangeable. They’re both Chromebooks, which means this one is also a cheap, light way to get some basic functionality.

The biggest thing that you’ll notice about this is that it is a combination of laptop and tablet. The display is set on a 360-degree hinge, allowing it to fold completely flat outward, allowing full use of the 11.6” touch screen. The two-in-one also makes for sturdier construction, and there’s no worry about overextending the display hinge.

You might find yourself wishing that the outside edges weren’t beveled so that they’d line up properly in tablet mode or that the whole thing was thinner (¾ inch feels big for a handheld). The body is 11.5”x8.5”, which means it will fit neatly into any bag that will hold textbooks or notebooks.

It’s also got a quad-core processor, which is a higher level of processing power than you often see in Chromebooks, which makes it more suitable for multitasking. The 4 GB of RAM holds its own as well. It’s still not a ton of power, so if you’re a student in a creative field, especially one that involves animation or frequent video editing, you’ll probably need to use the school computers.

The screen is on the small side at only 11.6 inches, which feels a bit cramped in laptop mode, so if you need more detail, you’ll probably need to switch to touchscreen tablet mode. It’s a bit frustrating if you’re switching back and forth between detailed work and typing, but it’s mostly seamless otherwise. Usually, we’d take points off for the 1366×768 resolution, but the screen is small enough that you don’t really notice it.

Connectivity-wise, this Chromebook features standard USB, USB-C, HDMI, and DisplayPort ports, as well as a combination audio jack, so there’s should be no issue with compatibility when it comes to peripherals. There’s also a built-in webcam, microphone, and speakers, meaning it’s fully functional for media and video-conferencing needs.

Memory is always going to be the biggest issue with Chromebooks. This one has 32 GB of internal memory, which fills up quickly. The fact that it uses Chrome OS helps with the size of the system and program files, but you’re still losing a large chunk of its already limited memory to core files. You’ll definitely want cloud storage or an external device (or both) if you plan on keeping any significant number of documents or files.

Overall though, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better white laptop for students at this price point. This Lenovo Chromebook has enough power to handle basic applications with ease and long battery life to stay on all day at school. Most importantly, it won’t cost you a fortune.

7. Razer Blade 15 Mercury White

Display: 15.6” OLED | Screen Resolution: 4k UHD (3840 x 2160) | CPU: 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10750H GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (Max-Q) | RAM: 16 GB DDR4 | Storage: 512 GB SSD | Battery Life: 5 Hours | Weight: 4.7 lbs / 2.1 kg

Razer Blade 15 Mercury White

REASONS TO BUY

  • Powerful laptop with a functional design
  • Several built-in utilities and peripheral tools
  • Super Sharp UHD display
  • Customization options for power and price
  • Excellent build quality

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Expensive
  • Runs hot under heavy load
  • Limited storage in default models

Our Rating:   9.2/10

Razer advertises itself as a gaming lifestyle brand. As such, they make laptops, towers, and a wide range of peripherals. Many competitive gamers use Razer headsets, mice, and keyboards, even if they have a different brand of PC or one that’s been custom-built. What fans of the brand typically find appealing is the function-first construction. Anything you get from Razer is going to work, and look like it works.

The Blade 15 is no exception. It’s a straightforward metallic case, anodized mercury white aluminum to be precise, and surprisingly compact for the power it packs. It comes in just under 5 pounds and is approximately 14” x 9” and just over three-quarters of an inch thick.

By default, it comes with a six-core Intel i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 2070. Combined, they deliver enough power to run most, if not all, current-gen games on high settings. Variations on it can be upgraded to an eight-core processor and an RTX 2080. If you’re looking to save a bit of money, you can cut down to a GTX 1660.

That power all feeds to a 15.6” 4K ultra-HD display, with a max resolution of 3840 x 2160. On higher graphics settings, you might want to cut that to a lower resolution to get an optimal framerate, but it’s gorgeous for detailed games and video. There is also a 17” version available with slightly higher specs and price.

Razer’s experience with peripherals means the RGB keyboard is wonderfully responsive, with about as much tactile experience as you could expect from a laptop. You’re still going to want a mouse for maximum effect, and even though the speakers and mic are fully functional, you’ll likely want a headset if you do online gaming.

Connectivity-wise, the Blade offers an above-average selection of ports, including 3 USB ports, two USB-C ports for connecting your peripherals, an HDMI port for potential external display, and an ethernet port for wired internet connection.

If you’ve got a lot of games you like to keep in rotation, the memory on this one is going to be a bit low. It comes with 512 GB total, though upgraded versions can include 1 TB, which you can still burn through quickly if you have a large number of current-gen games. You’ll probably want to consider one of the bundled versions that include an additional external storage device.

For a gaming laptop, cooling is always a concern, and this one, unfortunately, could be better. If you’re going to run it at high performance for an extended time, make sure to keep the area around it well-ventilated. You may even want to consider a cooling pad.

Overall, the Razer Blade 15 is a powerful gaming machine that will go toe-to-toe with the x15 from Alienware from higher on the list while being more compact. If you’re looking for an alternative or have a brand preference for Razer, this is going to be a great choice for a white gaming laptop. The cooling can be an issue if you don’t have a set space for gaming, but if you get it set up with the correct peripherals, it’s a fantastic machine.

8. Dell Alienware Area 51M Lunar Light

Display: 17.3” IPS | Screen Resolution: FullHD (1920 x 1080) | CPU: 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 | RAM: 32GB | Storage: 2x 512 GB SSD + 1 TB (+8 GB SSHD) Hybrid Drive | Battery Life: 2 Hours | Weight: 8.5 lbs / 3.9 kg

Dell Alienware Area 51M Lunar Light

REASONS TO BUY

  • Insanely powerful graphics and processing
  • One of the largest hard drives of any laptop on the market
  • Excellent ventilation
  • Attractive, futuristic design
  • Excellent build quality

REASONS TO AVOID

  • The display could be better
  • Extremely pricey
  • Bulky and heavy

Our Rating:   9.1/10

Let’s call this one the nuclear option. It’s definitely not for everyone. It’s probably more computer than most people need, and it’s not going to be in most people’s budget, but, well, it’s sure fun to dream about.

In terms of appearance, it’s remarkably similar to the M17 from earlier in this list, although it is slightly larger to accommodate the additional hardware. In total, it’s approximately 16” x 12.5” and 1.7” thick. It also weighs almost 10 pounds, so you’re looking at something that you might call “technically portable” instead of something you’re actually going to be able to easily carry around on a regular basis.

This laptop blows away any other entry on this list when it comes to processing power, with an eight-core, Intel i9 processor and full 32 GB of RAM. The Area 51 also comes with an NVIDIA RTX 2080, one of the most powerful GPUs from the previous generation of NVIDIA graphics cards. The combination of GPU and processing power means you’ll be able to run any game currently on the market.

Additionally, there’s no shortage of memory either. The Area 51 has a whopping 2 TB of memory, spread across two 512 GB SSDs, and one 1TB SSHD, for extremely quick load times and massive amounts of storage.

Cooling isn’t an issue, either. The cryo-tech cooling that Alienware uses combines various alloys and internal heatsinks to quickly dissipate heat while keeping the case cool to the touch. Like the M17, the Area 51 also features two cooling fans and intake/exhaust vents that take up most of the back and bottom of the case. If you’re running at full power, it’s still going to be putting off a fair amount of heat, so make sure it’s well-ventilated for use.

This feels a bit petty, but the display could be better. There’s nothing wrong with a 17.3-inch, 144hz, 1920 x 1080 display, but it could be better. The Razer from earlier sports a 4k display and costs much, much less. This is a dream machine, so skimping in any area feels a bit odd. You may even want to purchase an HD monitor and use the laptop to power it.

In addition to that, you’re going to need a mouse, headset, and possibly a keyboard as well. It’s almost to the point where you may as well purchase a tower, which is typically going to deliver more power and a lesser cost.

All things considered, this one is mostly on the list to dream about. If you have a ton of disposable income and want a laptop to match your existing gaming setup or are willing to spare no expense for your computer but still need a laptop, this might be a justifiable choice. Otherwise, you’re going to get just about everything you need from the M17 or the Razer Blade.

The ASUS VivoBook is meant as a more cost-effective alternative to our list leader, the Dell XPS. Asus, in general, tend to be a little less powerful and perhaps a bit less sturdy, but on the whole, still very functional laptops for a significantly lower price.

With the ASUS VivoBook, you’re getting a four-core Intel i5 processor and 8 GB of RAM. It’s not a huge amount of power; gamers and creative professionals probably won’t be satisfied with it in the long term, but it’s enough to run most basic apps and programs and handle a fair amount of multitasking.

The internal storage is also straight down the middle, at 512 GB. Enough for work documents, most basic programs, and so on, but if you need to store a lot of photos or videos, you’ll want to invest in an external hard drive.

The 15.6” 1920×1080 display isn’t as bright or vibrant as it could be, but that’s not an issue you’re likely to notice if you’re not using it for creative projects, which are already limited in other ways. On the plus side, that is a larger display than most of the other entries on this list.

It’s a bit heavier than we’d like, just under four pounds, but the slim body (0.6” thick) makes up for it.

It’s a beautiful machine, slim and portable, and the Dreamy White has a pearlescent color that our photos don’t do justice. This is an average laptop that won’t break the bank, but you’ll feel great about carrying around.

Overall, this laptop boots quickly and performs basic tasks without issue. The display is large, if basic. It’s not going to be great for gaming or content creation, but will be great for work or school tasks, as well as watching movies or internet browsing. It’s a good household laptop with an attractive white design.

10. ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Moonlight White

Display: 14” IPS | Screen Resolution: FullHD (1920 x 1080) | CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (Max-Q) | RAM: 16 GB | Storage: 1 TB SSD | Battery Life: Up to 12 hours | Weight: 3.8 lbs / 1.7 kg

2021 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Moonlight White

REASONS TO BUY

  • Powerful, next-gen hardware
  • More affordable than comparable options
  • Great for content creators and gamers
  • Most portable powerhouse on the list
  • Beautiful white design
  • Quality construction

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Overheating issues
  • Very loud under heavy loads
  • Small display

Our Rating:   9.0/10

Another ASUS, with much of the same to be said for it. It compromises a little on construction and lags a tiny bit behind its counterparts from Alienware or Razer–not in the raw performance, but in other areas that we will discuss.

As a result, you can typically expect to pay a few hundred less for it. It’s a pretty good deal if you don’t have specific standards in mind.

Now, to walk that back just a little: the ASUS ROG Zephyrus has an Nvidia RTX 3060, so this laptop might be able to get in on the next-gen GeForce without spending the next couple of months camped outside a parts store.

It also comes with an eight-core Ryzen 9 processor and 16 GB of RAM. Combine that with the video card, and you’re not really taking a hit on raw power. 24 GB and 40 GB RAM versions are also available. The processor alone is amazing and puts out a lot of power, making it also a great option for content creators and professionals.

The storage is fantastic as well. 1 TB SSD by default, with 2 TB options available for an additional price, meaning you will have plenty of space for all your files, photos, and of course, games.

You might even be asking why this is so low on our list, considering how much power it puts out. Two reasons.

The first is cooling. Like the Alienware entries, it has dual fans but unfortunately hasn’t left nearly as much area for ventilation or dissipation, so they have to work extra hard and are very loud. And even then, it can run extremely hot, to the point where you won’t be able to keep your hands on the keyboard, literally. Light gaming on it is fine, but playing demanding games on turbo mode will definitely overheat the laptop.

The second is the display. It’s running all this power, then trying to cram it out through a 14-inch screen. It’s a perfectly fine 1920×1080 14-inch screen. It’s sharp, it’s pretty, and the range of color and brightness leaves nothing to be desired. It’s also the size of a Chromebook.

And of course, that limited size (12.75” x 8.5” total body) means the keyboard is cramped as well, so (you know where this is going) you’ll need to invest in peripherals to get the full use and unfortunately, the promotional gaming bundle doesn’t include any of them.

Overall, the Zephyrus G14 is a really solid white gaming laptop with some downsides that may or may not be a deal-breaker. The main selling point is the next-gen hardware, mainly the Ryzen processor, which will do wonders for you in terms of processing power, making it a great choice if you prefer to use one laptop for both gaming and productivity. However, we do feel like there are better options available if you’re looking for a white gaming laptop, namely the Alienware M17 or the Blade 15 from Razer.
