1. Roccat NOZ

210 g / 0.46 lbs

Frequency Response: 10 Hz ~ 20.000 Hz | Impedance: 60 Ohm | Driver Size: 50 mm | Connection Type: 3.5 mm

Roccat NOZREASONS TO BUY

  • Ultra lightweight design
  • Affordable price
  • Durable and quality build
  • Highly comfortable
  • Convenient on-ear controls
  • Removable, quality microphone

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Average audio quality

Our Rating:   9.2/10

When looking for a lightweight headset, it’s tough to beat the ROCCAT NOZ. Coming in at just under half a pound, the NOZ provides versatility and a feather-weight package at an affordable price; however, the lightweight and low cost do come with some drawbacks, mostly in the form of sound quality.

Underneath the all-black plastic exterior, a thin stainless steel band and metal hinges give the NOZ relatively long-term durability. The earcups boast an over-the-ear padded fabric design, allowing for long-term comfort and breathability for extended sessions. The left earcup also houses a removable microphone and convenient volume and mute controls.

While the NOZ has a strong, braided, 8-foot cable long enough to adjust your position with ease, it lacks the freedom you would find in other wireless headsets. The NOZ interfaces with your computer with a built-in line splitter and gives you the option to connect it to a phone or a tablet with the mobile cable adapter, making the NOZ a perfect match for being on the go.

The 50mm stereo speakers provide decent quality; it may not be the first choice of the audiophile, and there are other headsets for the same price point with crisper, clearer audio, but the quality is good enough for casual gaming and music.

Unlike some other headsets, there is no associated software that would allow you to adjust the equalizer, and there is no ability to adjust audio profiles, so if you like booming bass, the NOZ might be lacking for you. The microphone provides clear audio, so communicating with your teammates should pose no challenge.

Overall, the ROCCAT NOZ is a solid headset for anyone with a budget in mind, and the lightweight design makes it convenient and comfortable for commuting or long gaming sessions. If you’re looking for something with a little more flexibility on the EQ or even just stronger performance when it comes to audio quality, you might be better off looking for another headset.

2. Razer BlackShark V2 X

240 g / 0.53 lbs

Frequency Response: 12 Hz – 28.000 Hz | Impedance: 32 Ohm (1 kHz) | Driver Size: 50 mm | Connection Type: 3.5 mm

Razer BlackShark V2 XREASONS TO BUY

  • Extremely lightweight
  • Excellent audio quality
  • Clear microphone
  • High-quality build
  • Super comfortable
  • Budget-friendly
  • Incredible value

REASONS TO AVOID

  • None

Our Rating:   9.9/10

The Razer BlackShark V2 series is one of the best lines of gaming headsets on the market today, and the V2 X is no exception. Coming in at 240 grams, just over a half-pound, this headset is an incredible example of lightweight, heavy performance, and budget price.

The BlackShark V2 X may not have all the bells and whistles of its higher-priced cousins, the V2 or V2 Pro, but it still has the important parts. The all-black design features memory foam ear cushions and padding across the headband that, when coupled with the half-pound weight, mean that you may forget that you are even wearing a headset.

The V2 X is an excellent mix of both style and substance; while a lot of weight has been shed to make this lightweight headset, very little performance has been dropped. Featuring 7.1 surround sound, the Razer Triforce drivers deliver powerful bass, crisp trebles, and precise transitions for excellent special sound and immersion.

Not only will you receive great audio from the game, but you will be delivering excellent sound with the noise-canceling and flexible microphone. Designed to focus only on your voice and cancel ambient sound, you will be able to talk smack or coordinate with your team thanks to the crystal-clear audio.

Another win for the V2 X is its versatility. While it is a corded connection with a 3.5mm jack, this means that you can easily transfer from PC to console to mobile with ease. Again, it may not have the wireless capability or USB connections of some more expensive headsets, but the versatility and performance of the V2 X are on par with models that cost nearly twice as much.

Weighing in at about a half-pound, the Razer BlackShark V2 X punches well above its weight class in terms of comfort and performance. Able to be worn all day without even noticing it’s there and delivering excellent audio quality, the BlackShark V2 X is hands down the best lightweight gaming headset currently available on the market.

3. Razer Kraken X

249 g / 0.55 lbs

Frequency Response: 12 Hz – 28.000 Hz | Impedance: 32 Ohm | Driver Size: 40 mm | Connection Type: 3.5 mm

Razer Kraken XREASONS TO BUY

  • Highly comfortable
  • High-quality build
  • Convenient on-ear controls
  • Great audio quality for games
  • 7.1 surround sound (PC only)
  • Budget-friendly

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Irremovable microphone
  • Not ideal for listening to music

Our Rating:   9.5/10

Coming from a popular gaming accessory company, the Razer Kraken X is a lightweight headset at an entry-level price. Although it has some impressive features for its price, such as 7.1 surround sound, it’s not quite a dream come true in every application.

The Kraken X looks sleek with its all-black construction and clearly has comfort in mind with its leatherette-covered memory foam earcups that provide a channel for supreme compatibility with eyewear.

Razer has moved away from in-line cable volume and mute controls on this headset, instead moving them to a convenient spot on the back of the left earcup, allowing for easy location of the controls without having to remove the headset.

The 3.5 mm-ended cable allows the Kraken X to be used across platforms, being compatible with PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and mobile devices. The audio quality for the Kraken X seems to be intended specifically for gaming, with good bass and clear dialogue ranges.

Where this headset is lacking, however, is in the higher ranges, making the Kraken less than ideal for listening to music. While this headset does allow for 7.1 surround sound, it is only useable on a PC with Windows 10 and requires Razer’s proprietary software to enable it.

The microphone is great for clear communication when playing multiplayer, but it would have been nice to move it out of the way when not in use. The microphone is flexible in design but fixed in location and cannot be removed.

The Razer Kraken X, weighing in at barely over half a pound, provides excellent and affordable quality for gaming but might leave you wanting if you want to listen to music instead. The focus on comfort is a definite plus, but keep in mind that unless you plan on using them on Windows 10, you won’t be able to take advantage of the 7.1 surround sound capability.

4. SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless

255 g / 0.56 lbs

Frequency Response: 20 Hz – 20.000 Hz | Impedance: 32 Ohm | Driver Size: 40 mm | Connection Type: 3.5 mm, Wireless | Battery Life: 20 Hours

SteelSeries Arctis 1 WirelessREASONS TO BUY

  • Great audio quality for both games and music
  • Highly comfortable
  • Excellent build quality
  • Wireless with 20-hour battery life
  • Multi-platform
  • Convenient on-ear controls

REASONS TO AVOID

  • No surround sound
  • Higher price

Our Rating:   9.4/10

The wireless, steel band-reinforced Arctis 1 headset by SteelSeries combines comfort, audio quality, and durability for a mid-tier price with relatively few drawbacks.

One of the many advantages of the Arctis 1 headset is the freedom that comes from a wireless package, and with 20 hours of use on a single charge, that freedom will last throughout even the longest gaming sessions.

The Arctis 1 connects to a PC or Playstation easily with the included USB-C wireless dongle (with or without the USB-C to A adapter, depending on your port availability), which also makes it easy to use with a Nintendo Switch or Android phone.

It is important to note, however, that call and audio chat functions for the Samsung Galaxy line are unsupported over the wireless connection. In that case, it is still possible to use the detachable 3.5mm cable for calls.

The plain, matte black body may not have the flashy programmable lights found on more expensive headsets, but it does provide a clean aesthetic. Under the plastic, you can find a flexible steel band to improve the durability and lifespan of the headset.

The left earcup houses not only mute and volume controls but also contains a micro-USB charging port and a 3.5mm port that accepts the previously mentioned 3.5mm cable. The microphone is Discord-certified, noise-canceling, and easily removable, featuring a 3.5mm plug that fits another port on the front of the left earcup.

The audio quality of the Arctis 1 is good for both music and gaming, performing similarly to other SteelSeries products while still coming in under the cost of most of them, although it is lacking in the surround sound features that a more expensive headset would provide.

The headset is compatible with SteelSeries‘ proprietary Engine audio software, but without the features of more expensive headsets, there’s not much in the way of adjustability in the program.

Overall, if you’re willing to spend a little more, the SteelSeries Arctis 1 wireless is more than a bang for your buck.

5. Logitech G Pro X

258 g / 0.57 lbs

Frequency Response: 20 Hz – 20.000 Hz | Impedance: 35 Ohm | Driver Size: 50 mm Pro-G | Connection Type: 3.5 mm, USB

Logitech G Pro XREASONS TO BUY

  • Attractive design
  • Comfortable fit
  • High-quality build
  • Excellent audio quality
  • Plenty of customization via G HUB
  • Surround sound (PC only)

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Lacks convenient on-ear controls
  • Pricey

Our Rating:   9.6/10

The Logitech G Pro X, priced closer toward the higher end of mid-tier headsets, comes with a few exotic and exciting features. Weighing in at 0.57 lbs, the G Pro X is a wired USB headset that comes with an external soundcard and the ability to save multiple audio profiles.

The all-black G Pro X is capable of 7.1 Surround sound but requires not only the included external USB soundcard but also the Logitech G Hub software, which enables you to create and save multiple equalizer audio profiles, including profiles that have been created by professionals that are available for download.

Long-term durability was obviously a focus for Logitech, with a steel-reinforced headband and aluminum forks holding the earcups in place. The memory foam earcups come with two different coverings, one in leatherette and the other in velour.

Two cables come with the G Pro X: a 2-meter-long cable with a USB connection to interface with your computer and another 1.5-meter-long cable to interface with tournament systems. Along with the headset comes a travel bag to help protect it while in transit. Unlike many of the other installments today, both sets of cables have in-line on-cable controls instead of on the earcup.

The G Pro X, when combined with the G Hub software, allows for extensive customization and adjustability over the equalizer and many other settings for the headset, which results in high-quality audio in both low and mid ranges for both gaming and music.

The downside to this is that while the G Pro X is capable of being used on consoles, surround sound and other audio quality enhancement tools are only available to PC users.

The Logitech G Pro X is a solid choice of headset for anyone who is looking for a higher-quality build and who has a little more money to spend on their peripherals. Keep in mind that, to make the most of this headset, you’re going to have to be on PC.

6. Logitech G433

259 g / 0.57 lbs

Frequency Response: 20 Hz – 20.000 Hz | Impedance: 32 Ohm | Driver Size: 40 mm | Connection Type: 3.5 mm, USB

Logitech G433REASONS TO BUY

  • Comes in various color options
  • Comes with extra pair of ear pads
  • Supports 7.1 surround sound (PC only)
  • Detachable, quality microphone
  • Aesthetically pleasing

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Not as comfortable as others
  • Lacks on-ear controls
  • Mediocre audio quality

Our Rating:   9.1/10

At just barely heavier than the G Pro X, Logitech’s G433 is a headset that shares many of the same accessories and features as its cousin but at a slightly lower price point. This headset is available in black, red, blue, and a blue camouflage design.

The colorful exterior of the headset is made of a stain-resistant fabric mesh, with a padded steel-reinforced headband, plastic forks, and plastic earcups. Two sets of ear pads are included, as well as two sets of cables to enable compatibility for PCs, consoles, and mobile devices.

Controls for the headset are located in line on both sets of cables. Despite the padding present on the headset, it can be uncomfortable to wear for extended periods.

Like the G Pro X, the G433 comes with a USB external sound card to enable 7.1 surround sound. Similarly, the G433 is only capable of surround sound when used with a computer. The microphone provides clear audio for online multiplayer and is detachable from the left earcup.

The audio quality for the G433 is, unfortunately, the major downside of the headset. This is not to say that the audio quality is terrible; however, it is outclassed in quality by other headsets at a similar price point.

The Logitech G433 is not the strongest contender when it comes to high-quality audio output, but it does shine where other headsets don’t: aesthetic. In a period where many other headsets are in a solid, matte black, the G433 has a flair not found in many of its competitors.

With the capability to connect it to a mobile device, attractive looks, and a removable microphone, the G433 may have found itself a place for gamers and commuters alike.

7. HyperX Cloud MIX

260 g / 0.57 Lbs

Frequency Response: 10 Hz – 40.000 Hz | Impedance: 40 Ohm | Driver Size: 40 mm Dual Chamber | Connection Type: 3.5 mm, Wireless | Battery Life: 20 Hours

HyperX Cloud MIXREASONS TO BUY

  • Great looks
  • Excellent audio quality
  • Comfortable fit
  • Excellent build quality
  • 20-hour battery life
  • Superb microphone

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Premium price
  • Boom mic doesn’t work with Bluetooth

Our Rating:   9.4/10

The HyperX Cloud MIX is another mid-weight entry at just over half a pound that comes with a variety of features – and an increase in cost. Comin in either slick black or white and rose gold, the Cloud MIX is an aesthetically pleasing headset, but there are some drawbacks that may make you reconsider the hefty price tag.

The Cloud MIX is a certified Hi-Res audio headset, and the quality that the dual-chamber speaker design puts out certainly seems worthy of the accolade. With its virtual 7.1 surround sound, music and gaming are great coming through the MIX’s speakers. It is a multi-platform headset that can connect via Bluetooth or a 3.5 mm cable to your PC, console, or mobile device.

While you might think this makes it convenient for calls from your phone, it is important to note that the detachable boom microphone does not work while the headset is operating over Bluetooth; it uses a built-in microphone on the headset itself.

Unfortunately, there is a decrease in audio clarity when switching from the boom mic, which may or may not impact your calls, and especially in online multiplayer gaming. Since most consoles don’t support Bluetooth, however, gaming with the Cloud MIX may be less of an issue. In addition, the Bluetooth capability only allows pairing of one device at a time.

The construction of the Cloud MIX consists of a single piece of aluminum for the headset and earcup forks and leatherette-covered pads for the earcups, providing both durability and reasonable comfort. The padding may not be perfect for glasses wearers, but shouldn’t be uncomfortable even after a few hours of use.

The battery life is substantial, coming in around 20 hours on a single charge, but may be less if listening at higher volumes.

In the end, the HyperX Cloud MIX provides audio quality that you would expect from the price tag, but you may find some of the features lacking when the headset tries to fill two roles, both a Bluetooth headset and a wired gaming headset.

8. Sennheiser GSP 350

262 g / 0.58 lbs

Frequency Response: 15 Hz – 26.000 Hz | Impedance: 19 Ohm | Driver Size: 50 mm | Connection Type: USB

Sennheiser GSP 350REASONS TO BUY

  • Great audio quality
  • Removable cable
  • Highly comfortable ear cups
  • Solid microphone
  • Plenty of customization via software

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Doesn’t come with a 3.5mm cable
  • Higher price

Our Rating:   9.2/10

The stylish-looking black and red Sennheiser GSP 350 clocks in on the higher end of mid-tier headsets, and whereas other headsets have multi-platform support, the GP 350 seems to be specifically designed with the PC in mind.

That’s not to say that the GSP 350 can’t be used with other platforms, only that you’ll need to purchase a separate cable if you want to connect it to your console.

The GP 350 provides Dolby 7.1 Surround sound thanks to the USB dongle that processes the audio and interacts with Sennheiser’s proprietary software, which enables you to control the equalizer, including choosing from preset EQ profiles for different headset usages.

Both the speakers and the microphone provide good-quality audio, and muting the microphone is as simple as flipping it up and out of the way. Volume controls for the GP 350 can be found on the right earcup, which might take you some time to get used to if you’re accustomed to what seems to be the more standard back of the left earcup design.

The cable is removable from the headset and, oddly enough, comes in two pieces, with one plugging into the Dolby dongle and the other running from the dongle to your PC.

The weight of the GDP 350 starts edging toward the heavier end of entries on this list, coming in around 0.58 lbs, though the amount of padding and the somewhat larger ear cups mean that comfort can still be found.

When it comes down to it, the Sennheiser GSP 350 is a headset that provides great audio quality for a decent price. If you’re looking for a specific color scheme or the ability to remove the microphone from your headset, you may want to look elsewhere. As a mid-tier gaming-oriented headset, the GSP 350 does what it sets out to do.

9. Razer Opus

265 g / 0.58 lbs

Frequency Response: 20 Hz – 20.000 Hz | Impedance: 12 Ohm | Driver Size: 40 mm (Dynamic Drivers) | Connection Type: 3.5 mm, Wireless | Battery Life: 25 Hours

Razer OpusREASONS TO BUY

  • Wireless with up to 25-hour battery life
  • Active noise cancelling
  • Excellent audio quality
  • Comes with a premium carry case
  • Comfortable
  • On-ear controls

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Premium price
  • No boom mic
  • Lower quality microphone

Our Rating:   9.4/10

Razer is hopping in with another entry in the lightweight headset list with its Opus model, weighing in toward the higher end at 0.58 lbs. These wired or wireless headphones may not completely break the bank but do come with a premium price point.

The Opus headset is THX-certified for high-fidelity audio, and the audio that it produces certainly shows it. With active noise canceling, these headphones are great for anyone to whom quality is a must.

The headphones can even be used on a dead battery with the included 3.5mm cable, though unless they’re turned on, the noise canceling feature won’t work. You won’t have to worry about a dead battery too much, however, as the Opus boasts a 25-hour battery life.

Gamers who play mostly online might have an issue with the lack of a high-quality boom microphone, and the built-in internal microphone leaves something to be desired for crystal-clear communication. Unfortunately, the lack of an adjustable equalizer means that you can’t fine-tune these headphones to your preference.

The construction of the Opus is mostly plastic, but the lie-flat design of the earcups does help to decrease the stress on the headset while in storage. The padded leatherette ear pads are a bit on the small side and don’t include the eyewear channels found on other models from the company, so glasses wearers might not find it all too comfortable during use.

The Opus seems to be designed with people on the go in mind. It is compatible with mobile devices with Razer’s Opus app and comes with surrounding awareness features: simply press and hold a button, and the noise of your surroundings becomes amplified, helping to keep you safe while commuting, walking, or exercising.

If you’re looking for high-quality wireless headphones for music or commuting, the Razer Opus fits the bill quite nicely. As a gaming headset, they provide great audio but fall short when it comes to communication due to a lower-quality mic.

10. HyperX Cloud Stinger Wireless

268 g / 0.59 lbs

Frequency Response: 20 Hz – 20.000 Hz | Impedance: 32 Ohm | Driver Size: 50 mm | Connection Type: Wireless | Battery Life: 17 Hours

HyperX Cloud Stinger WirelessREASONS TO BUY

  • Affordable price
  • Durable build
  • Flip-up-to-mute mic
  • On-ear controls
  • Good audio quality
  • Great value for the price

REASONS TO AVOID

  • No support for 3.5mm
  • Not the best audio quality

Our Rating:   9.2/10

The HyperX Cloud Stinger is still a lightweight headset, coming in at just 0.59 lbs, and for its relatively low price point, it makes a great entry-level wireless gaming headset. There are a few drawbacks, but depending on what you’re looking for, the Cloud Stinger might still be a great choice if you want a bargain deal.

The all-wireless Cloud Stinger makes connecting to a PC or Playstation quick and easy, but it does not come with the ability to use a cable at all. If the lack of a 3.5mm jack doesn’t bother you, then the 17-hour battery life should let you get through even the longest gaming sessions on a single charge.

Underneath the neat black plastic, you can find a steel frame to help the durability and lifespan of this entry-level build. Power controls and a flip-up-to-mute flexible microphone are found on the left ear cup; with volume controls on the right, you won’t have to go searching for a mid-line control on a cable to adjust your settings.

The audio quality on this headset is good. Not great, but good. Extreme low and high-range sounds fall by the wayside, but for casual gaming, the Cloud Stinger is a good match. Along the same lines, it may not be the first choice of the audiophile, but the Stinger makes a decent headset for listening to music, too, so long as you won’t miss the pounding bass a more expensive headset could provide.

Even though its wireless connectivity isn’t supported for mobile devices, if you listen to music from your PC or console, you can enjoy the freedom of about 30 feet before having too many issues.

If you’re a casual PC or console gamer looking for a wireless headset that won’t set you too far back on your budget, the HyperX Cloud Stinger is a solid choice. If you’ve got a little more money to spend, are looking for higher-quality audio, or want something that allows for a little more connectivity on other platforms, you may want to look for something else.

11. BENGOO G9000

272 g / 0.60 lbs

Frequency Response: 15 Hz – 20.000 Hz | Impedance: N/A | Driver Size: 40 mm | Connection Type: 3.5 mm

BENGOO G9000REASONS TO BUY

  • Budget-friendly
  • Overall decent for the price
  • Decent looks
  • Blue LED lights
  • Great entry-level headset

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Mediocre build quality
  • Average mic and audio quality

Our Rating:   8.7/10

The BENGOO G9000 is far from the highest-quality headset you’ll find on this list. It is, however, the most affordable, with quality that you can expect from an inexpensive, entry-level headset. Weighing in at 0.60 lbs, the G9000 is one of the heaviest here.

The audio quality of this headset isn’t the greatest, but it also doesn’t pretend to be. It can be a bit bass-heavy and lacks a little in the higher ranges, but for casual music and gaming, they do the job.

Just as you would probably expect, the microphone works well enough, but expect background and ambient noise to be picked up more than you would find in a more expensive headset, and don’t be surprised if the audio from your own speakers gets picked up too.

The construction is mostly plastic and definitely is not as sturdy as the other headsets. The ear cups are smaller than usual, which may or may not cause discomfort depending on your ear size and whether or not you like on-ear instead of over-ear headphones.

The braided cable is just long enough to allow you freedom of movement while at your computer, and the in-line controls are convenient. The G9000 is advertised as multiplatform, but you may need to buy adapters depending on the system you want to use it with.

If you are looking for a headset with a brand with proven quality, the BENGOO G9000 is not for you. If, on the other hand, you’re willing to spend as little as possible to get passable results from a headset, the G9000 might be right up your alley.

It’s easy to be skeptical of these headphones, especially when the advertising mislabels some consoles it’s intended to be used by and promotes the use of „keluodine fibers“ in the cable, which may or may not actually be something that exists. But for the price, you will get a perfectly functional headset, and you can’t ask for much more than that.

12. Roccat Khan Aimo

277 g / 0.61 lbs

Frequency Response: 10 Hz – 40.000 Hz | Impedance: 32 Ohm | Driver Size: 50 mm | Connection Type: USB

Roccat Khan AimoREASONS TO BUY

  • Excellent audio quality
  • Supports 7.1 surround sound
  • Customizable via Roccat Swarm software
  • Long-lasting build
  • Customizable RGB illumination
  • On-ear controls
  • Highly comfortable

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Higher price
  • Older model

Our Rating:   9.5/10

The mid-tier Roccat Khan Aimo, weighing in at just over 0.60 lbs, is a headset that comes with its share of pros and cons.

For a relatively affordable price, the sound quality that the Khan Aimo provides is great. The built-in sound card allows for Hi-res certified 7.1 surround sound, providing excellent directional sound for games. It interacts with the Roccat Swarm software, letting you adjust the equalizer and choose from different sound profiles.

The Khan Aimo’s high audio quality also lends itself to music, with balanced and clear sounds. The microphone isn’t the greatest and might transmit a little bit of buzzing, but not so much that it would cause issues with multiplayer chats.

The construction is about what you’d expect for its price point: plastic outer with a steel headband to help increase durability and lifespan. It includes a flip-to-mute microphone as well as on-ear cup controls. The overall fit and finish of the product are decent overall.

The microphone clicks into and out of position as an apparent design choice to give tactile and audio feedback, letting you know when it’s in its muted position. The black exterior, coupled with customizable RGB lights, is nice if you’ve got a particular color scheme you want your headset to match.

As a gaming headset, the Roccat Khan Aimo is hard to beat in terms of audio quality. If you’re into RGB and don’t mind a mic with a couple of minor issues, then you’ll probably have no issues taking the dive with this headset.

13. Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless

278 g / 0.61 lbs

Frequency Response: 20 Hz ~ 20.000 Hz | Impedance: 39 Ohm  | Driver Size: 40 mm | Connection Type: Wireless via USB | Battery Life: Up to 29 Hours

Logitech G733 Lightspeed WirelessREASONS TO BUY

  • High-quality build
  • Attractive aesthetics
  • Great surround sound
  • Stable wireless connection
  • Super comfortable
  • Excellent audio quality

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Lacks in connectivity
  • Not sound canceling

Our Rating:   9.7/10

Coming in at the heavier end of our lightweight list, the Logitech G733 Lightspeed is a powerhouse with a personality. Designed to not only be comfortable and high-performing but to look great while doing it, this may be a little bit heavier than many of the other headsets discussed, but that extra weight is put to good use.

At 278 grams, this headset still comes in around the half-pound benchmark, meaning that if you aren’t paying attention, you may forget that you have the headset on. Logitech has made comfort a priority in this build, as the headset features a light, reversible suspension strap that works to distribute weight and remove pressure points.

Additionally, the dual-layer memory foam on the rectangular earpieces provides a snug and comfortable fit that won’t move around too much but isn’t so tight you’re getting a headache. The lightweight design and extra effort put into comfort make this headset an excellent choice for any gamer.

Offering 7.1 surround sound and a professional-quality attached microphone, the G733 Lightspeed headset ensures that you are getting high-fidelity sound from your game and communicating clearly with your squad.

The G733 was designed with gaming in mind, so the focus is on spatial sound, meaning that this is not a great every-occasion headset, but they do stand out and offer high performance when it comes to playing games.

With BLUE VO!CE filters and the G HUB software, you can fine-tune your sound profile, and the Discord-certified audio on this system is comparable to headsets that cost twice as much. The G733 provides excellent quality sound in a very fun package.

If you go with the G733 Lightspeed, you will likely stand out from the crowd. Offering a variety of additional suspension straps and mic covers as well as boasting forward-facing RGB LEDs, these headphones are great to show off on streams.

Additionally, the wireless connection is stable and reliable, meaning you don’t have to worry about randomly disconnecting in the middle of the game. Also, you can seemingly take this headset anywhere around the house thanks to its 20-meter wireless range, and the battery life is also great – up to 29 hours with RGB lighting off.

Designed with comfort in mind, the Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless headset offers a whole lot for such a light load. Coming in at a fair price point, this is a great option if you want a headset that is not only lightweight but is also nice to look at and provides excellent gaming audio.

14. HyperX Cloud Alpha S

308 g / 0.68 lbs

Frequency Response: 13 Hz – 27.000 Hz | Impedance: 65 Ohm | Driver Size: 50 mm | Connection Type: 3.5 mm, USB

HyperX Cloud Alpha SREASONS TO BUY

  • Quality, durable build
  • Highly comfortable
  • On-ear bass controls
  • Excellent audio quality
  • Supports 7.1 surround sound (PC only)
  • Comes with an advanced audio control mixer

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Heaviest of the bunch
  • Quiet microphone

Our Rating:   9.6/10

At 0.68 lbs, the HyperX Cloud Alpha S is the heaviest of the lightweight headset entries on this list, and on the lower end of cost for mid-tier headsets, the Alpha S is a good bang for your buck.

As with other Kingston HyperX products, the Cloud Alpha S is built on a solid aluminum frame and forks and has leatherette-covered padded ear pads designed with comfort in mind, making this an easy headset to use for long gaming sessions.

The back of each earcup comes with sliders that allow you to adjust the amount of bass that the drivers deliver. The boom microphone on the left earcup is removable and provides clear audio. The only complaint that the microphone gives is that it can be a little quiet, but shouldn’t be a problem in most environments.

The audio quality that the Alpha S delivers is substantial, and the in-line external soundboard enables simulated 7.1 surround sound. Volume and mute controls, as well as in-game and chat settings, can be found on the external soundboard.

While it is a primarily PC-focused headset, the Alpha S is a multiplatform headset. Unfortunately, you lose the surround sound feature when not connected to a PC, in addition to losing the functionality of the in-line controls.

With the Cloud Alpha S, Kingston released a quality headset that’s perfect for gaming, but if you’re looking to use it for a console, expect to lose some of the features that account for some of the product’s cost. Great audio and adjustable bass are nice, but if you know you’ll be using the headphones in a crowded environment, don’t hope for too much out of the microphone.

Why Should You Buy a Light Gaming Headset?

With all the options for great gaming headsets already on the market, why is it so important to look for a lightweight one? Most simply, the answers are comfort and portability.

Heavier headsets can create pressure points and cause discomfort after extended use. Lightweight headsets are generally made with a focus on comfort and are often designed with cross-platform and mobile users in mind.

It would be just as acceptable to wear them connected to your phone while on a walk as it would be to wear them while gaming.

In addition, many of these headsets are geared toward people who wear headphones for work. With working from home being as common as it is right now, it makes sense to have a comfortable, lightweight communication device to complete your home office setup.

So whether you’re competing in gaming tournaments or gaming on the couch, working from home, or listening to music on the go, having a dependable headset is great.

What Should You Look For When Buying a Gaming Headset?

So, what do you look for when trying to find a great gaming headset? Ultimately, it depends on your needs – and your budget.

At almost every price point, there are great products, but the features, accessories, and even software can vary wildly from one to the next. It seems obvious, but one of the major features you’re probably looking for in a gaming headset is audio quality.

Many high-end headsets have certifications from organizations that ensure a minimum standard of quality and are often advertised as having 7.1 surround sound.

While it sounds impressive, the truth is that even at higher price points, a headset with good stereo audio will fit the bill more often than not, especially if you’re looking to use many of the products with game consoles or mobile devices, as often the surround sound capability is limited to use with a PC.

While high-fidelity audio is important for a gaming headset, it’s often not the most important feature – otherwise, more headsets would fall into the audiophile’s sights, which often is not the case.

Having a good microphone that transmits clear audio is a very common feature on gaming headsets, and it’s really no wonder why. More and more games are going online, to the point of even single-player games requiring a connection to the internet.

If you want to game with friends and aren’t able to go back to some good, old-fashioned couch co-op, a headset is an essential tool to communicate while you’re playing. Headset microphones are generally good and only present minor issues.

On the low end, you’re more likely to find microphones that are either too quiet or pick up too much sound, but many companies provide products that transmit voice audio clearly without too many complaints.

Again, the type of headset you will want to buy depends on your needs. If you need a headset to work from home with and only occasionally have to sit in telecom meetings, you might want a headset with a microphone that is removable or, at the very least, can flip up out of the way.

Similarly, if you do recording work or streaming, you can often get significantly better performance out of a standalone mic and might benefit from a headset where it’s removable.

How you connect your headset to your device is also important and can influence a few major things. If the headset only connects via a 3.5mm jack, you can connect it to most devices out there, be it PCs and laptops, consoles, or mobile devices.

Some devices, mostly PCs and consoles, can still take advantage of a USB (usually still type-A) connection, which often gives the added benefit of equalizer adjustment on a PC. And while wireless headsets are great and provide more freedom than being tied down with a cable, they’re also usually the most limiting factor when it comes to connections.

Many laptops are Bluetooth compatible, as are phones, but it’s a less common feature for desktops and consoles. Similarly, if the headset connects via the 2.4 GHz band using a wireless dongle, you can probably use it on most computers and consoles, but you lose the ability to connect it to a mobile device.

Ultimately, choosing the right headset will come down to one major question: what do you need it to do?

All headphone models are updated and the information is complete, the layout of your website also easy to read. 2. There are days (specially during this pandemic) when I can spend 10 hours in from of my PC gaming. I really enjoy it. But I am looking for some headphones that are lighter. The ones that I have not are not really good concerning quality, but what I hate most, is that they are so heavy. Time to give myself a little treat.

  3. The logitech website said Logitech G Pro X weighs 320g. Is your review not including the battery or have I confused this with a similar product?
