  • Vibrant and crisp large screen
  • Excellent color accuracy
  • High-quality construction
  • Attractive, gamer-centric aesthetics
  • Long battery life
  • 2-in-1 functionality
  • Portable

  • Gets hot during extended sessions

Our Rating:   9.8/10

If you’re looking for a high-quality gaming laptop with a well-implemented and responsive touchscreen, the ASUS ROG Flow X16 is by far your best option.

Beyond its vibrant display with touchscreen capability and stylus support, it also features powerful hardware for modern games and even a 2-in-1 functionality, making it an excellent choice for a wide variety of users.

Construction-wise, the Flow X16 uses high-quality materials, ensuring not only superb durability but also a very handsome aesthetic that will look good for years to come. It’s a thin, compact, and well-built laptop while not being too heavy (4.6lb) compared to other 16” gaming laptops.

The display itself is beautiful and sure to wow you once you first open it. It’s a large 16” IPS panel with QHD+ resolution providing an extremely sharp and vibrant viewing experience. On top of that, it’s buttery-smooth for competitive gaming, with a 165hz refresh rate and 3ms response time.

The brightness is also excellent, with 550 nits of peak brightness, making it suitable for use in brightly lit environments. Plus, content creators will appreciate the accurate color reproduction, featuring 100% coverage for both sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts.

As I mentioned earlier, there is a ton of flexibility with this laptop, considering its responsive touchscreen and 2-in-1 hinge. It’s a proper gaming laptop, but it’s also a great fit for content creation, productivity and multitasking, or casual use and media consumption.

Performance-wise, the laptop doesn’t disappoint as well. The RTX 3060 is still a strong and relevant graphics and the Ryzen 9 6900HS packs a punch for a laptop processor – it’s one of the best laptop CPUs out there, with 8 multithreaded cores with a maximum clock of 4.9GHz.

Plus, the included 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 1TB of NVMe storage should be more than enough for all but the most demanding users.

This hardware configuration is sufficient for gaming and light content creation, but it also keeps the price reasonable. If you need extra power for more demanding gaming and professional work, there is a higher-spec model for roughly $600 more–It features an extra 32 Gigs of RAM, a newer and more powerful RTX 4060 graphics card, a faster 14-core i9 processor, and an extra terabyte of storage.

Overall, the Asus ROG Flow X16 is, by far, the best touchscreen gaming laptop currently available on the market. It’s wonderful to handle and use for day-to-day tasks, capable of running most modern games, and offers tremendous flexibility for those who want to take advantage of its beautiful screen.

2. MSI Creator Z17

Display Size: 17” | Panel Type: IPS | Screen Resolution: QHD+ (2560 x 1600) | CPU: Intel Core i9-12900H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti | RAM: 64 GB DDR5 | Storage: 2 TB SSD | Battery life: Up to 5 hours | Weight: 5.5 lbs / 2.5 kg

MSI Creator Z17

REASONS TO BUY

  • Flawless touchscreen (with stylus support)
  • Extremely powerful for gaming and professional use
  • Elegant, thin design
  • High-quality build
  • Massive RAM and storage
  • Vibrant 17” touchscreen display
  • RGB keyboard
  • Excellent connectivity

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Short battery life
  • Fairly heavy
  • Massive price tag
  • Loud fans

Our Rating:   9.7/10

The MSI Creator Z17 is a beautiful and elegant laptop geared toward creators. Given the limited number of gaming laptops with touch support, it’s also one of the very best touchscreen laptops for gamers.

Although there are some drawbacks we’re going to cover, this is an excellent option for someone looking for a premium laptop with powerful hardware and an immersive touchscreen display. Plus, the build quality and aesthetics are top-of-the-line and commensurate with the premium price tag.

As mentioned, this laptop is more geared towards content creation and professional use, but the high-end components and 1440p display with a 165hz refresh rate make it an excellent option for gamers.

Color reproduction is great but not perfect, with a coverage of 96% of the sRGB and 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamuts–It’s not the best, especially given the focus and price tag of this laptop, but it’s still one of the most color accurate gaming laptops on the market.

In addition to that, MSI gives you the option for easily changing the color space presets (between sRGB, DCI-P3, and AdobeRGB), and also for manual color calibration via their MSI True Color app. In regards to the touchscreen, it works flawlessly, being highly responsive and also featuring stylus support.

Performance-wise, this laptop will be able to handle most productivity tasks and applications that are thrown at it considering its massive 64GB DDR5 RAM and powerful Core i9 processor. It offers incredibly snappy performance and will handle most multitasking applications without breaking a sweat.

In terms of the graphics card, many other laptops at a similarly high price point will offer better gaming performance given the 90-Watt RTX 3080 Ti, likely a compromise from maintaining its very thin form factor. The RTX 3080 Ti is still a very capable and relevant GPU that will be able to take full advantage of the 165Hz 1440p display; however, it is dwarfed by other high-end gaming-focused laptops.

The biggest drawback of this laptop is obviously the massive price tag. Aside from that, I was also disappointed to see suboptimal 3-hour battery life on average and the noisy fans, which seem to be nearly always at 100% RPM to keep the core components cool.

In summary, while it’s one of the only touchscreen laptops that can game on the highest level, it’s pretty hard to recommend for the average gamer. It’s a high-end laptop with a premium price tag that still asks the buyer to be okay with its compromises. It’s thin, powerful, and robust, but I’d imagine gamers would prefer a more focused laptop.

If you’re into both gaming and content creation, need a touch screen, and have the money to accommodate, then it’s a good buy. But purely for gaming, there are better and cheaper alternatives, like the ROG Flow X16 from ASUS we reviewed above.

3. ASUS ROG Flow Z13

Display Size: 13.4” | Panel Type: IPS | Screen Resolution: 4K UHD+ (3840 x 2400) | CPU: Intel Core i9-12900H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti | RAM: 16 GB DDR5 | Storage: 1 TB SSD | Battery life: Up to 6 hours | Weight: 2.6 lbs / 1.2 kg

ASUS ROG Flow Z13

REASONS TO BUY

  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Extremely responsive touchscreen
  • immersive 120hz IPS display
  • Plenty bright with good color accuracy
  • High-quality construction
  • Sleek design
  • Plenty of connectivity (including Thunderbolt 4)
  • Features an 8MP rear camera
  • Bundled chiclet keyboard offers a good typing experience

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Mediocre battery life
  • Disappointing 720p webcam
  • Higher price
  • Not upgradeable

Our Rating:   9.6/10

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a gaming tablet rather than a gaming laptop, but it’s really worth shortlisting if you’re looking for a gaming laptop for its portability and touchscreen capability. Plus, it’s much better at gaming than you probably think.

It has the typical entry gaming laptop hardware packed into a very compact, portable, and flexible design. Its Intel Core i9-12900H processor is quite capable and able to handle most games you throw at it. It also comes equipped with an RTX 3050 Ti, which can play the majority of modern games as long as you’re willing to drop some settings or settle for a lower frame rate.

In addition to that, the fast 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD are likely capable of your memory and storage needs. You’ll be shocked when using the Z13 that all of these components are in this lightweight and thin device.

The display is a 13.4” 16:10 aspect ratio touchscreen where you can choose between 120Hz or 4K, depending on the application. This makes perfect sense for this tablet since it’s meant to be used for a variety of applications where each option has its use.

In practical real-world use, you’ll use this tablet to play games on the go or in the comfort of any room in the house but also edit photos or videos, consume media, or simply browse the internet on the go.

On top of that, the touch screen is well-sorted and responsive, being that it’s a tablet. Touch will be a commonly used input for this device, and Asus knows that.

In typical Asus fashion, this device uses high-quality materials with nice inputs. As for form factor, it sits among the lightest gaming laptops with 3.4 pounds or 1.5 kg, and is also very thin at a mere 12mm, leading to a very flexible and multi-purpose laptop alternative.

Thanks to that, you can use Z13 in your bed, on the couch, at your desk next to a desktop, when taking public transit, or on a plane–The use case for this is immense.

In addition, you’ll able to easily pair any peripherals to achieve a strong desktop, laptop, or console experience. It has several usable input ports, including USB Type-A, multiple USB Type-C ports, Thunderbolt 4, a microSD card reader, as well as a Bluetooth capability for controllers, keyboards, and mice.

Probably the biggest drawback of this device is the 720p webcam that provides mediocre image quality at best. However, that’s somewhat offset by the 8-megapixel rear camera, which is a feature you won’t get on a standard gaming laptop. And while it’s light for a gaming laptop, it’s still pretty heavy for use in tablet mode.

Overall, the Asus ROG Flow Z13 is an excellent option for basically anyone looking for a portable gaming laptop with a touchscreen. However, if gaming performance per dollar is all that you care for, then this tablet may not be for you.

It’s excellent at what it sets out to accomplish, but at this price point, you can get substantially more powerful laptops. But when it comes to convenience and portability, the Z13 is a really strong contender. Just be prepared to pay for it.

4. ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 15 OLED

Display Size: 15.6” | Panel Type: OLED | Screen Resolution: FullHD (1920 x 1080) | CPU: Intel Core i9-12900H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 | RAM: 32 GB DDR5 | Storage: 1 TB SSD | Battery life: Up to 5 hours | Weight: 5.1 lbs / 2.3 kg

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 15 OLED

REASONS TO BUY

  • Dual screen, each featuring a responsive touchscreen
  • Beautiful OLED displays
  • Excellent brightness and color accuracy
  • Powerful hardware for gaming and content creation
  • Excellent memory configuration
  • Sleek design
  • Premium build quality
  • Comfortable keyboard

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Heavier for a 15” laptop
  • 60hz refresh rate
  • Awkward position of the keyboard and touchpad
  • Weaker connectivity

Our Rating:   9.5/10

The Asus Zenbook ProDuo 15 OLED UX582 is a mouthful, but for a good reason–It has a unique dual-touchscreen design that’s perfect for creators. And it’s also up to snuff as a gaming laptop.

However, this is a creator’s laptop above all else; it’s in no way trying to be a gaming laptop–But we’d call it a creator’s laptop that can play some games on the side. It is a robust and effective creator’s laptop that looks and feels the part. The touch screen is also very well sorted, with excellent image quality and responsive feedback.

For starters, it has an absolutely beautiful display with an extremely color-accurate 4K OLED touchscreen. The smaller screen is also 4K resolution and also a touchscreen. It functions as a second screen for awesome multitasking capability with a host of included tools geared toward content creation.

All that said, this laptop is large and heavy and effectively functions as a desktop replacement. You would be more likely to put this on a desk with a second monitor than actually pack it up and bring it anywhere. It weighs in at 5.16lb and has a 1.52lb power supply.

Unsurprisingly, this laptop is aesthetically beautiful. It’s sleek and elegant and also boasts fantastic build quality. It features a brushed aluminum shell that provides extra sturdiness, and each part of this laptop, from the keyboard to the hinges, feels premium and high-quality.

Now, purely for gaming, you should probably look elsewhere. While casual gaming is on the table, its display has a refresh rate of 60Hz, and you would be justified to immediately disqualify the Zenbook for competitive gaming.

On the other hand, it comes equipped with pretty robust components with an RTX 3060 graphics card and Core i9 processor, but chances are you’ll reach that 60Hz limit even at 4K for many common games.

In addition to that, it has 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. It has all of the makings of a solid gaming laptop, but when you factor in the limited display refresh rate and decently high price tag, it likely is not worth the compromise if gaming is your main priority.

Still, there’s some great potential to use its second screen while gaming. You can monitor your laptop’s thermal performance, overlay overclocking software, or use it as a dashboard for current game performance.

Besides its 60hz refresh rate and higher price tag, we also didn’t like the shorter battery life (around 5 hours), weaker connectivity with no SD card reader, and its awkward positioning of the keyboard and touchpad, which will take some time getting used to.

Overall, the Zenbook Pro Duo 15 OLED is one of the best touchscreen laptops for casual gaming and content creation–It features an amazing screen, a high-quality build, and a big wow factor once you actually open up the screen.

However, when it comes to more serious gaming, you probably will want something much more geared for the purpose with a higher refresh rate screen, and likely at a lower price. In the end, if you’re mainly a content creator who does some casual gaming and you also need a touchscreen, it’s a good fit.

5. Dell XPS 17 9720

Display Size: 17” | Panel Type: IPS | Screen Resolution: UHD+ (3840 x 2400) | CPU: Intel Core i7-12700H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 | RAM: 64 GB DDR5 | Storage: 4 TB SSD | Battery life: Up to 11 hours | Weight: 4.9 lbs / 2.2 kg

Dell XPS 17 9720

REASONS TO BUY

  • One of the best touchscreen implementations of any laptop
  • Solid gaming performance
  • Beautiful large 4K display
  • Excellent color accuracy
  • Simple yet elegant design
  • Premium build from top to bottom
  • Fantastic keyboard
  • Quality speakers
  • Full-day battery life

REASONS TO AVOID

  • 720p webcam is a letdown at this price
  • No USB Type-A ports
  • Weaker GPU for gaming

Our Rating:   9.5/10

The Dell XPS 17 9720 is Dell’s flagship model geared towards productivity and usability. It’s not a gaming laptop per se, but it comes loaded with robust components that put it up to a variety of tasks, including gaming. Plus, it has a perfectly functional and responsive touchscreen.

The design of the XPS is basic, very basic. Basic to the point that people spending upwards of $3,000 may be disappointed that it looks identical to basic $500 Dell laptops.

That being said, once you touch it, you will immediately feel the premium materials and quality construction. The layout is your standard practical intuitive laptop layout, nothing fancy or gimmicky here. Overall, it’s a handsome laptop that is inoffensive and premium.

The display is the main selling point of this laptop, and sure to wow you once you open it. It’s a large beautiful 17” touchscreen with a 4K resolution and ultra-thin bezels. Plus, the touchscreen is as responsive as they get.

In addition to being extremely sharp, it’s also plenty bright and color-accurate, with 100% coverage of both sRGB and AdobeRGB color gamuts and around 400 nits of brightness across the whole screen. The only drawback is the rather low 60hz refresh rate, which will be an issue if you plan on playing fast-paced, competitive games on it.

A silly downside to the XPS is that it’s so premium it no longer has the standard rectangular USB-A ports. This means you’ll need to bring a dongle with you (which Dell does include with purchase) to plug in any USB-A devices.

If you’re like me, then your USB devices are still USB-A, such as headphones, mice, and phone chargers. Depending on the peripheral devices you own, this could be a major headache for day-to-day use.

On the bright side, the 64GB of DDR5 RAM is class-leading. Many laptops, even at this price point, will include 32GB of RAM or 64GB of DDR4. On top of that, the processor is a potent 12th-gen i7. Coupled with the 64GB of RAM, this laptop will be able to handle most tasks you throw at it, whether they’re productivity or content-creation-based.

Where this laptop shows its cracks is its gaming performance. The Dell XPS is by no means a gaming laptop, and it’s not trying to be a gaming laptop. Included is a 6GB RTX 3060 (40W), which for all intents and purposes, is not considered adequate when also taking the price of this laptop into account. For the price tag, we would expect an RTX 3070 at the minimum.

Lastly, the keyboard and speakers are excellent. The keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience with responsive feedback, and the speakers offer full-bodied audio that fills up the room nicely. Unfortunately, the webcam is only 720p, which is a huge misstep for a laptop this expensive.

Overall, the Dell XPS is a laptop that can play games and features one of the best touchscreens available. It’s a premium offering with a premium price tag attached; however, you may not find its gaming performance to be sufficient, considering the premium cost.

If you’re a content creator who has the budget for this laptop and does light gaming on the side, then this is a great option. If you’re a serious gamer and want the best that money can buy, then you’re best off considering other options at this price.

6. ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 OLED

Display Size: 15.6” | Panel Type: OLED | Screen Resolution: FullHD (1920 x 1080) | CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti | RAM: 16 GB DDR5 | Storage: 1 TB SSD | Battery life: Up to 10 hours | Weight: 3.1 lbs / 1.4 kg

ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 OLED

REASONS TO BUY

  • Snappy and responsive touchscreen
  • Solid performance for casual gaming
  • Thin and lightweight design
  • High-quality build
  • Beautiful OLED display
  • Good color accuracy
  • Affordable
  • Long battery life

REASONS TO AVOID

  • 1080p resolution
  • Only a 60Hz refresh rate
  • Gaming performance per dollar is lacking
  • RAM and storage are not upgradeable

Our Rating:   9.3/10

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 OLED is a powerful and visually stunning laptop. Packed with an OLED touchscreen display that delivers vibrant colors, coupled with solid performance and premium build quality, this laptop is perfect for content creators as well as casual gamers in need of a touchscreen.

In terms of design, the Zenbook Pro 15 has a sleek and understated design that won’t wow anyone, but it also won’t bring unwanted attention.

It features an elegant metallic grey shell with top-notch build quality and material choice for its class. Plus, it’s thin, lightweight, and has your typical run-of-the-mill layout, which is a compliment in today’s technological landscape. The downside is the top picks up fingerprints very easily due to its material.

The key feature and main selling point is the beautiful display. It’s a 15.6” 1080p OLED touchscreen panel that offers extremely low response time, excellent and even brightness, and deep blacks.

Besides that, content creators will appreciate the color accuracy of this display, with a coverage of nearly 100% of the sRGB and 90% of the AdobeRGB color gamuts. That’s not the best, but given the lower price tag of this laptop, it’s more than acceptable. Plus, the touchscreen is snappy and responsive works perfectly, and even comes with stylus support.

The bigger drawback for gamers will be the low 60Hz refresh rate, which will struggle with fast-paced games. Besides that, the RTX 3050 Ti graphics card it boasts is your standard low-end laptop graphics card, which makes it a really hard ask at this price point. But as we mentioned, it’s enough for casual gamers.

For productivity, its 16GB RAM is adequate for regular use and light multitasking, but it will be pushed to the limit when trying to do more than light multitasking. You’ll likely notice some slowdowns at 16GB if you’re a Chrome tab hoarder, especially.

The CPU is a Ryzen 7 5800H which is pretty potent, usually paired with more robust graphics cards. As is, the CPU is more than enough for gaming and video editing.

In terms of drawbacks, the biggest one is probably upgradeability. This laptop is sold with soldered RAM and only one M.2 slot, so you will be stuck with what you get. On the brighter side, the battery life is excellent, with up to 10 hours on average, meeting our full-day battery life standard.

Overall, the Asus Zenbook Pro 15 OLED is not the best option, but still solid for casual gamers in need of a touchscreen. It is a good choice if you like playing video games and absolutely need a touch screen, but you must have expectations in check that it’s a content creation-focused laptop that just happens to be able to play some games.

7. MSI Summit E14 Flip EVO

Display Size: 14” | Panel Type: IPS | Screen Resolution: QHD+ (2560 x 1600) | CPU: Intel Core i5-1240P | GPU: Intel Iris Xe | RAM: 16 GB DDR5 | Storage: 512 GB SSD | Battery life: Up to 8 hours | Weight: 3.5 lbs / 1.6 kg

MSI Summit E14 Flip EVO

REASONS TO BUY

  • Features a Touchscreen with stylus support
  • Active MSI Pen included
  • Budget-friendly price
  • Sturdy chassis with 360° hinge
  • Sharp 14” QHD+ display
  • Excellent brightness and color accuracy
  • Great connectivity

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Gets hot under load
  • Heavy to use in table mode
  • 60Hz display
  • No discrete graphics card
  • Shorter battery life

Our Rating:   8.9/10

The MSI Summit E14 is an affordable, lightweight, and thin 2-in-1 laptop that’s very well-suited for productivity and content creation and can do some light gaming as well.

If you’re looking for a basic and no-frills touchscreen laptop, then this may be the one for you. As the only laptop under $1,000, this occupies a very important niche of ‘budget-friendly’ touchscreen gaming laptops.

As far as the laptop goes, it is very basic in its design which you may view as a positive. It has a nice clean aesthetic, and the materials and build quality are nice, but you may notice some cheaper, less premium feeling touch points compared to more expensive options.

In addition, it weighs in at 3.5 pounds (1.6kg). The lower weight, in combination with the thin form factor and small screen size, makes this one of the most portable options on the list.

Now, the display is outstanding, especially if you factor in the price. It’s a 14” QHD+ resolution IPS panel that is exceptionally sharp (215 PPI) and color-accurate, with a coverage of 100% of the sRGB and 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamuts.

In addition to that, it’s plenty bright with 460 nits brightness across the whole screen, making it suitable for work outside in direct sunlight or in brightly lit environments. However, while it’s great for content creators, the 60Hz refresh rate will not keep up with fast-paced gaming.

The touchscreen works as well as you’d need it to. It may not be as lightning-responsive as the other more expensive options in this list, but it gets the job done. Plus, you’ll get an active MSI pen included with the purchase.

As for productivity, the 16GB DDR5 RAM will be adequate for basic browsing and light multitasking, but it will struggle with more intense applications. At its price point, this is an appropriate amount of RAM and not as much of a drawback. However, if using this laptop for intense productivity purposes, it may be worth considering other options.

The 512GB NVMe SSD is also a worthy inclusion as it’s quick and has adequate storage for what most casual users need. If you are a content creator and also a gamer, then this may not prove to be enough for your needs considering game installations have been growing in size over the years.

When it comes to gaming, the Summit E14 falls flat for anything other than light gaming due to the lack of a discrete graphics card. The integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics are capable enough for lower-intensity games such as indie games or strictly CPU-heavy games, but it will pale in comparison to any laptop with a dedicated graphics card.

If gaming is a priority, and the touch screen is a must, then you will have to pony up for a more expensive option, as this will likely leave you disappointed.

Our biggest gripe with this laptop is the battery life, which given the lower-tier hardware, is pretty short at around 5-6 hours of regular use. On the other hand, the connectivity is stellar for a budget-oriented laptop, including an SD card reader, USB Type-A, HDMI, USB-C supporting Thunderbolt 4, and DisplayPort ports.

Overall, The MSI Summit E14 is still a great laptop when considering the price and use as a portable productivity laptop. It also features an excellent display with a touchscreen and quality construction. However, we would not recommend this if you’re looking to play video games at mid-high settings, not to mention competitively.
