Apple might have started out with personal computers, but my first experience with an apple product was my old iPod Nano. Since their massive success in breaking into the music industry with the iPod and the iTunes store a few years later, Apple has always had a strong association with music.

It’s no surprise that their music-minded innovation has had an impact on the quality of MacBook speakers too. While the other laptops in this article have excellent speakers when compared to laptop speakers in general, the MacBook Pro 16 is in a league of its own.

It scores some big wins in basically every category, from volume to frequency representation. When listening to music on the MacBook Pro, you forget that it is a laptop–The speakers are able to produce excellent lows, mids, and even highs translating into clear music that fills up the whole room.

On top of that, the MacBook Pro scores the biggest win in the bass frequencies. It’s unclear why this is, but the going trend in laptop speakers seems to be a relatively weak bass response. This might not be the biggest deal for people who don’t especially enjoy music with heavy bass.

However, given that bass is present to some degree in every genre, no matter what you’re listening to, it’s going to sound more detailed and clear coming through the speakers in the MacBook Pro 16.

Overall, the sound produced by these speakers, be it music or explosions in an action movie, are amazing in comparison to any other laptop.

Aside from the fantastic speakers, another substantial win for the MacBook Pro 16 is its battery life. While using the MacBook Pro 16 for tasks with low to medium demand, you’ll be able to enjoy upwards of 20 hours of usage before having to worry about finding somewhere to plug it in.

This allows you to comfortably take advantage of those excellent speakers for extended periods, no matter where you are. Feel free to jam out to your favorite tunes or kick back and stream your favorite shows/videos without having to constantly keep an eye on the battery percentage.

Along with speaker quality and battery life being two major reasons to consider investing in a MacBook Pro 16, it also has a few noteworthy improvements from the previous MacBook builds.

Apple’s butterfly keyboard and touch bar were two features that were largely met with negative feedback. Instead of doubling down on those would-be innovations like Apple has been known to do in the past, they’ve listened to the complaints and have done away with them.

Instead, the MacBook Pro 16 has a more standard row of function keys. Likewise, they’ve switched to a more typical scissor-switch-style keyboard. With a few design optimizations, Apple has granted MacBook 16 Pro buyers an impeccable typing experience.

If you’re not yet convinced that this is an amazing laptop, there are a couple of other impressive features to this machine. The MacBook Pro 16 also has a high resolution/high refresh rate screen which makes things look crystal clear and smooth. Its specific resolution is unique to this computer and other Apple products, but it’s about the same as 4K.

On top of that, it also includes the beefy M1 Max processor to back it up. Rendering all of those pixels takes a lot of processing power, and the M1 Max is definitely equipped to take on the load. It’ll be able to handle 4k video editing with ease.

If, for whatever reason, your goal is to buy a laptop with the best built-in speakers possible, it doesn’t get any better than Apple’s MacBook Pro 16. Apart from its speakers, the MacBook Pro is a tremendous laptop–It also comes equipped with a fantastic display and keyboard, meaning the biggest drawback is, as per usual with Apple products, the premium price tag.

2. Razer Blade 17

”Gaming Laptop With the Best Speakers”

Display Size: 17.3” | Panel Type: IPS | Screen Resolution: 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) | CPU: Intel Core i9-12900H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti | RAM: 32 GB | Storage: 1 TB SSD | Battery life: Up to 5 hours | Weight: 6.1 lbs / 2.8 kg

Razer Blade Pro 17

  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Thin and compact for a 17” laptop
  • High-performance display
  • Solid 1080 webcam
  • Fantastic keyboard
  • Excellent connectivity
  • Quality build

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Short battery life (even for a gaming laptop)
  • Premium price tag
  • Fans get loud under load

Our Rating:   9.7/10

If you’re looking for a gaming laptop with the best speakers, the Razer Blade 17 is here to answer your prayers. It is definitely the go-to for buyers who want a laptop with excellent speakers, but also want to be able to play the latest AAA titles. The MacBook Pro 16 might have slightly better speakers, but the Razer Blade Pro 17 blows it out of the water when it comes to gaming performance.

While it doesn’t produce the same outstandingly detailed bass as the MacBook Pro 16, these speakers are excellent compared to most gaming laptops.

Unlike other laptops, which usually suffer from muddy bass sounds, the Razer Blade Pro 17 maintains a strong sound profile across the board. It’s also able to produce a bit more volume than you might expect at around 80 dBA. This allows you to enjoy an immersive gaming experience without having to buy any peripherals.

One issue that’s related to the quality of sound output is fan noise. While the speakers are excellent on their own, the Blade 17’s fans can get quite loud (at around 50 dBA max). As a machine that’s designed to bring high-performance gaming to a premium, thin, and portable laptop, it has a lot of power packed into a tight area. This inevitably means that it’s going to generate a lot of heat.

Fortunately, the cooling built into the Razer Blade 17 is enough to keep it cool even under extreme loads. However, this does mean that the fans have to pick up a lot of slack to vent all of that heat out. This won’t be much of a problem while just doing lightweight tasks like watching videos or listening to music.

But if you’re playing sound through the speakers while gaming, you’ll definitely be hearing some fan noise mixed in.

In terms of visuals, with a 4K 144Hz panel, the Razer Blade 17 offers stunning image quality with an extremely sharp, smooth, and vibrant display. But at the same time, it’s a bit overkill.

While 4K 144Hz is great in theory, the Blade 17 won’t be able to comfortably render graphically taxing games at that resolution and framerate. In fact, even the best desktop computers will still struggle with that benchmark while playing recent titles.

On top of that, 4K can be a bit overkill in general when it comes to gaming laptop displays. Laptop screens, this one included, are small enough that your eyes don’t really benefit much from the increased pixel density. The screen could be a bit lower resolution and still look essentially just as clear.

Rendering all of those pixels also drains the battery a bit faster too, making the Razer Blade 17 ill-fit for extended use away from an outlet with an average three-hour battery life.

Similar to the MacBook Pro, the Razer Blade 17 doesn’t come with any noticeable dealbreakers. It offers everything you’d expect from a premium gaming laptop–high-quality construction, a premium keyboard experience, top-of-the-line performance, a solid 1080p webcam, and a gorgeous, color-accurate display for professional use.

All things considered, if you’re looking for a combination of excellent audio experience and extreme gaming performance, the Razer Blade 17 won’t disappoint you in the slightest. It has excellent specs for a portable device and an amazing set of built-in speakers. If you’re a gamer and you’re able to afford a premium laptop, the Razer Blade 17 is a no-brainer.

3. Lenovo Yoga 9i

”Best Speakers on a 2-in-1 Laptop”

Display Size: 14” | Panel Type: OLED | Screen Resolution: WQUXGA (3840 x 2400) | CPU: Intel Core i7-1260P | GPU: Intel Iris Xe | RAM: 16 GB | Storage: 1 TB SSD | Battery life: Up to 15 hours | Weight: 3.1 lbs / 1.4 kg

Lenovo Yoga 9i

  • Great battery life
  • Stylus pen included
  • Premium build quality
  • Clean, elegant design
  • Comfortable, soft keyboard
  • 1080p webcam
  • Light and portable

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Poor connectivity
  • Poor trackpad

Our Rating:   9.6/10

If laptops are notorious for having sub-par speakers, then 2-in-1s are especially so. One of the problems with built-in speakers on 2-in-1 laptops is that they only face one direction. This means when you flip your laptop around into tablet mode, the speakers are facing the wrong way.

Even if the speakers themselves are decent, the distortion from outputting sound the wrong way makes them pretty difficult to appreciate. If the speakers are built in the other way around, they might sound decent in tablet mode but back to awful whenever you’re using it as a laptop.

Unlike all those other 2-in-1 laptops, the Lenovo Yoga 9i doesn’t fall short in the same way. It has a soundbar that is built into the hinge, the one part of the device which can still stay correctly oriented in either configuration. With this design, you’ll have the soundbar pointed right at you both ways.

In addition, the soundbar isn’t just some soundbar. It’s a miniature soundbar from Bowers & Wilkins, a British company that made a name for themselves by producing some of the best Hi-Fi speakers on the market.

It’s still no MacBook Pro-level audio quality, but compared to something like the Bang & Olufsen speakers on the HP Spectre 2-in-1, this soundbar is amazing–We’re pleasantly surprised by how good and clear the audio quality was.

Its quality is most noticeable in the brightness of the higher frequencies, but the bass is nothing to scoff at, either. Combined, the quality hardware and innovative design provide an excellent listening experience, especially considering this is a 2-in-1 laptop.

Beyond the great speaker setup, the Lenovo Yoga 9i is a very well-rounded 2-in-1. As you might expect from the price tag, it has excellent build quality. It’s supremely sturdy and subtle design features, like the rounded edges, reassure you that the designers knew what they were doing.

It also comes with a stylus and a carrying sleeve, features that are more and more common now in 2-in-1 laptops but great to see nonetheless.

When it comes to the display, you get absolutely gorgeous 4K OLED screen that’s incredibly vibrant. The image quality is just fantastic, and you also get enough brightness for use in well-lit areas with 400 nits.

On top of that, if you plan on editing pictures or videos on it, you’ll love how color accurate the display is, with 100% coverage of both the sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts.

In terms of drawbacks, there are really only two things holding the Lenovo Yoga 9i back. Those would be the limited connection ports and the relatively poor trackpad. When you consider what a 2-in-1 is supposed to accomplish, these are both very forgivable setbacks. The less-than-desirable trackpad is made up for by the fact that the laptop comes with a touchscreen.

Likewise, with its tablet functionality in mind, it doesn’t necessarily need to be the kind of device which plugs into a lot of peripherals and extra screens. Ultimately, these might be drawbacks, but if they’re enough to dissuade you from the Lenovo Yoga 9i, you’re probably better off with a more traditional laptop anyways.

If you’re in the market for a 2-in-1 style laptop and you want the absolute best in terms of audio quality, the Lenovo Yoga 9i with the built-in Bowers & Wilkins soundbar is your best bet. It might be a bit expensive, especially if you opt for the 4K display, but it is well worth it as this is one of the best laptops Lenovo has ever made.

  • Strong performance with an i9 and dedicated GPU
  • Excellent typing experience
  • Premium build quality
  • One of the lightest 17” laptops
  • Upgradeable SSD and RAM
  • Cool and quiet operation
  • Clean design

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Expensive
  • No USB type-A ports
  • 720p webcam

Our Rating:   9.5/10

The Dell XPS 17 9720 is the latest iteration of the famous XPS laptop that Dell has been selling for more than 15 years. This is the most successful laptop yet, and out of all the upgrades over the previous year’s model, the speakers are amongst the most notable.

If you’re a content creator or video editor of any kind, you have a lot of things to consider when looking for a laptop that’ll allow you to work wherever you are. You’ll need a computer that has enough power to smoothly run editing software, a good screen, and last but certainly not least, a good set of speakers.

If you’re interested in a single-purchase solution that’ll take care of all your editing needs, the Dell XPS 17 9720 is the perfect fit.

A 17-inch laptop is usually considered big enough to fit a Numpad. Without one, the 17-inch Dell XPS 17 9720 has enough room to fit some awesome, larger speakers. These larger speakers (2 woofers and 2 tweeters) pack some volume and quality, which you can’t quite get with a smaller-form laptop–The audio is full-bodied, with great lows, mids, and highs.

In addition to that, the sound is very clear, and you also get a pretty good bass to go with it. In comparison to the MacBook Pro 16, it’s not quite there, but is really close. When it comes to Windows laptops, it’s easily one of the absolute best laptops for audio quality.

With these speakers and the amazing built-in display, you essentially have a mini home theater you can take with you anywhere.

The display is indeed an excellent one too. This is one of the major aspects that makes it particularly useful to content creators. It’s sharp, bright, and has amazing color accuracy. And it is also a touchscreen.

If you create any content for the web, it has you completely covered with 100% of the sRGB color space. On top of that, it also covers 100% of the Adobe RGB color gamut and 98% of DCI-P3 for those of you working for or interested in the film industry.

Content creation requires a decent bit of hardware to effectively work with too. Good hardware can save you hours upon hours of time waiting for your projects to render. The beefy components built into the Dell XPS 17 9720 will be more than enough to get the job done. You get the amazing i9 processor and an RTX 3060, which, admittedly, isn’t quite the best card on the market but helps to keep the price somewhat reasonable.

Another compelling reason to consider getting your hands on the Dell XPS 17 9720 is its build quality. It has a premium feel to it, similar to the Macbook Pro or Razer Blade, two very high-end machines. The outside shell is made from sturdy aluminum, while the inside base is satisfying carbon fiber.

As far as drawbacks, there aren’t any significant ones, but there is a couple of things that we didn’t like. For some reason, Dell opted for a 720p webcam which is just mind-boggling in 2023, especially at this price point.

There are also no USB type-A ports on the laptop, though you get an adapter included in the box. And lastly, the price–This is a top-of-the-line laptop and you should be prepared to pay an extravagant amount.

Overall, the Dell XPS 17 9720 is one of the most well-rounded Windows laptops and does offer excellent audio quality along with a fantastic set of features. It’s not as good as the MacBook Pro, but if you don’t have an Apple ecosystem in place yet, and are looking for a professional Windows laptop with the best speakers, it doesn’t get much better than this.

5. Dell XPS 13 Plus

”Best Speakers on a 13-inch Laptop”

Display Size: 13.4” | Panel Type: IPS | Screen Resolution: FullHD Plus (1920 x 1200) | CPU: Intel Core i7-1260P | GPU: Intel Iris Xe | RAM: 16 GB | Storage: 512 GB SSD | Battery life: Up to 13 hours | Weight: 2.8 lbs / 1.3 kg

Dell XPS 13 Plus

REASONS TO BUY

  • Arguably the best speakers on a 13-inch laptop
  • Great overall performance
  • Bright and color-accurate display
  • Comfortable keyboard with wide keys
  • Very thin and portable design
  • Two Thunderbolt 4 capable USB type-C ports
  • Solid battery life
  • Premium build quality

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Poor connectivity
  • ‘Invisible’ trackpad
  • Touch bar
  • 720p webcam

Our Rating:   9.4/10

In the world of speakers, bigger is usually going to mean better. While there are certainly examples of smaller speakers outperforming larger ones, those are generally the exception to the rule. All things equal, a larger driver is going to be able to create louder sounds and bring more representation to frequencies that might otherwise be too subtle.

Unfortunately, this usually means one of the tradeoffs of buying a smaller laptop is poor speaker quality. 13-inch laptops are great for certain uses; they’re lightweight, easy to pack, and easy to carry.

You probably know where I am going with this–If you want all of that convenience without having to suffer crappy speakers, check out the Dell XPS 13 Plus. It might be small, but its speakers pack a considerable, yet elegantly detailed, punch.

Despite this being only a 13-inch laptop, it comes with a total of four built-in speakers–two right underneath the keyboard and two on the back left and right side of the chassis. Admittedly, they are not comparable with the MacBook Pro 16, but again, for a small laptop, they are loud enough with a good range of frequency and subtle bass.

Overall, the speakers are smaller and not as loud, but they offer excellent sound quality with high frequencies and clear sound, especially when you consider this is a 13” laptop.

Another relatively small aspect of the Dell XPS 13 Plus is its price tag. The majority of laptops on this list are at least $2000, which will place them out of budget for a lot of buyers. Laptops less than $2000 don’t usually come with very good speakers installed, but this is one of the rare exceptions.

If you’re hoping to save some cash, but don’t want to get saddled with a set of speakers that are constantly going to disappoint, the Dell XPS 13 Plus is probably your best bet.

Aside from the speakers, it still holds up as a premium yet somewhat affordable laptop. It has powerful enough components to easily tackle any day-to-day tasks without being slow or laggy with the Intel Core i7-1260P and 16GB of RAM.

In addition to that, the display is amazing. No matter which display type you choose (you can pick from either a 4K or full HD panel), you will not be disappointed. The panel is super bright and color-accurate with 100% sRGB and 99% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage.

If you want to double down on the display quality, Dell also offers a high-end OLED panel, which looks even better but will also cost you extra. We recommend going for the full HD resolution as it offers the best mix of performance and cost.

It’s also clear that a lot of work went into the design of this laptop, and if it has any shortcomings, it might be said that it was a bit over-designed.

Two features that will be very hit or miss depending on the user are the touch bar and trackpad. The touch bar is a similar design to what we’ve seen with previous MacBooks. If there’s any lesson to be learned from Apple, touch bars don’t seem to be a feature that many consumers are fond of. In fact, it’s a design that even Apple walked back on.

It seems like the general consensus is that it’s better to have a row of physical function buttons instead. The ‘invisible’ trackpad is another somewhat questionable design choice. The apparent intent was to make the laptop look sleeker, which was arguably a successful endeavor. While it might look pretty cool, it can be a bit annoying to always be weighing a bit of uncertainty about where the edges of the trackpad actually are.

The last drawback that’s worth mentioning is the connectivity of this laptop. The XPS 13 Plus doesn’t support standard USB type-A ports, nor the traditional 3.5mm jack for your audio. Instead, it only comes with two USB type-C ports, which do support Thunderbolt 4, thankfully. The reason behind this is to keep the laptop super thin (0.55 inches). Plus, to compensate for this, Dell includes a USB type-C to type-A and USB type-C to 3.5mm connector adapters.

All in all, if you’re looking for a highly portable and stylish laptop with good speakers, look no further than the Dell XPS 13. Again, it offers probably the best speakers we saw on a 13-inch laptop, plus the overall set of features is worth the money.

6. ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15

”Editor’s Pick”

  • Premium build quality
  • Buttery smooth display with wide viewing angles
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Responsive keyboard
  • Lots of customizable RGB
  • Excellent cooling system
  • Good connectivity

REASONS TO AVOID

  • No webcam
  • Sub-par battery life

Our Rating:   9.3/10

It seems as though the general trend is that to get a laptop with good speakers, you’re going to have to spend a bit more than average. If you’re a gamer and looking for a machine that will allow you to carry your gaming hobby with you, the price can start to rack up pretty quickly.

Don’t give up hope, though! If you’re feeling disheartened by the apparent cost associated with good speakers and high performance, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 might be just the thing to renew your spirits.

While quantifying speaker quality/performance is a bit difficult to do in precise terms, it’s a pretty safe bet that this laptop boasts the best speaker performance per dollar. Compared to other laptops in this price range, the speakers in this machine are excellent.

Two of the standout features of these speakers are the full-body audio and the presence of that ever-so-elusive lower bass. That always seems to be where other laptop speakers are a bit letdown, but this laptop insists on being an exception. Whether it be listening to music, watching videos, or playing games, you can rest assured that you’ll be enjoying clear and powerful sound.

Excellent performance for the price, as weird as it may sound for a ROG product, is a theme that carries through to just about every other aspect of the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 too. In fact, it’s one of the best-performing gaming laptops within its price range. You’d be hard-pressed to find a laptop that performs much better without stretching your budget out by a decent bit.

For less than two grand, you get a top-of-the-line performance with an i9 CPU and an RTX 3070 Ti packed in a well-cooled chassis that even features RGB. Pair that with a 1080p display that features a 300 Hz refresh rate, and you got everything you need in a portable package–That produces some amazing sound.

This model comes with a surprisingly good keyboard too. The previous Strix Scar came with a mechanical keyboard, which was a bit more enjoyable to type on than this version’s standard laptop keyboard. However, the difference in quality isn’t massive.

While it might not be as amazing of a standout as the previous model, its keyboard is still noticeably better than most chiclet laptop keyboards. If you’re a gamer who wants a keyboard that can keep up, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

As with essentially every high-performing laptop, battery life is one area the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 struggles in. It takes a lot of energy to power these high-end components, so, unfortunately, you won’t be able to use it unplugged for very long. It isn’t well suited for unplugging and sitting back on the couch. Rather, it’s a gaming setup you can easily transport and get situated with anywhere you can find a power outlet.

Gamers often find themselves considering difficult tradeoffs when looking into a new gaming laptop. If you’re hesitant to give up on a set of good speakers but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg to get them, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has your back.

7. ASUS ROG Zephyrus S17

”Honorable Mention”

Display Size: 17.3” | Panel Type: IPS | Screen Resolution: QHD (2560 x 1440) | CPU: Intel Core i7-11800H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 | RAM: 16 GB | Storage: 1 TB SSD | Battery life: Up to 8 hours | Weight: 5.7 lbs / 2.6 kg

ASUS ROG Zephyrus S17

REASONS TO BUY

  • Loud and clear audio (6-speaker setup)
  • Fantastic QHD display
  • Super-responsive mechanical keyboard
  • Many ports, including Ethernet and Thunderbolt 4
  • Per-key RGB backlit keyboard
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Feature-packed
  • Slim for a gaming laptop
  • High-quality build
  • Attractive aesthetics

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Premium price tag
  • 720p webcam

Our Rating:   9.3/10

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus S17 is one of the best gaming laptops available, and besides its excellent gaming performance, it offers great built-in speakers. The audio is clean and rich, with a deep bass that isn’t muddy. It’s certainly one of the best gaming laptops available for the combination of speakers, performance, and quality.

As far as the speakers, the audio is impressive, with a total of six built-in speakers (four tweeters and two woofers) that can produce a volume of up to 90 dB (A), meaning you don’t have to worry about your audio being quiet with this laptop.

In addition to that, the laptop also produces deeper bass than what you’re used to with a standard laptop, which can be especially useful when gaming.

Plus, with the additional combination of Dolby and Asus software that come included, you can tweak and perfect the sound even more–It gives you everything you need to monitor and precision-tune your PC’s performance, audio, and lighting.

Overall, the Zephyrus S17 is one of the best-sounding gaming laptops on the market, providing both acoustic detail and bass you can feel.

Apart from the great speakers, the display really shines on this laptop. With a stunning 17.3-inch QHD 1440p and 165hz screen, it is tailored very well to gamers and very serious power users.

Running recent AAA titles at 1440p and 165hz takes a monstrous amount of power, and this laptop hits the mark. On the basic model, the Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 GPU and Intel i7 11th Gen CPU in this powerhouse will provide you with enough power to run any game at 1440p.

Considering the powerful hardware included inside, it’s surprisingly slim. With the feel and design incredibly satisfying, this is one of the most compact 17” gaming laptops you can buy. Some methods help ensure its slim profile, like 16GB of soldered-on RAM, with one additional slot for upgrades.

We’re not fans of permanent memory on a gaming laptop, but compromises like this to ensure a slim design is well worth it. With an upgradeable 16GB RAM slot, it’s not that big of an issue.

Furthermore, the keyboard boasts mechanical switches, which a hardcore gamer might prefer for their high tactile feedback, but otherwise can be loud and require more force to actuate compared to a membrane keyboard. Besides that, the keyboard also raises a few degrees when you open the lid allowing for more airflow and a better typing angle without stressing your wrists.

Battery life can extend to a pleasant 10 hours with light use; however, for its intended purpose of top-tier gaming, a long session can cut it to under 6 hours if you are working at its full potential.

Overall, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S17 is an incredible laptop with great speakers that provide crystal-clear audio. In addition to that, you get a vibrant display, a fantastic mechanical keyboard, and great gaming performance; all wrapped up in a slim, high-quality chassis.

There are some drawbacks, such as the premium price tag and the 720p webcam, which produces mediocre video quality. But overall, if you’re looking for a gaming laptop with the best speakers, the Zephyrus S17 is definitely a contender.

Our Rating:   9.2/10

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 is the tenth generation of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1. Beyond being a slim and powerful laptop tailored toward business professionals, it also comes with a handful of upgrades, including speakers, that make it the best iteration yet.

In terms of audio quality, the X1 produces surprisingly good audio, especially if you consider how slim and compact the laptop is. It comes equipped with two tweeters and two woofers for a total of four speakers, of which two are facing the user. The audio is clear, with good mids and highs, though the bass is slightly lacking.

In addition to that, you get Dolby Atmos software included with purchase, which is a good support product allowing you to easily tweak the sound to your needs on the fly or choose from different audio modes.

Overall, the speakers are not the best out there, especially when compared to the MacBook Pro 16 or the Dell XPS laptop, but the audio quality is more than enough for you to listen to your favorite songs, enjoy a virtual meeting, or watch a movie with your friends.

Another strong point of the X1 Carbon is the display. It comes equipped with a bright and color-accurate Full HD 14-inch screen, with up to 400 nits of peak brightness and 100% coverage of the sRGB color gamut.

In addition to that, the display features a highly responsive touch-screen, which makes the laptop perfect for nearly every use, from everyday use to editing photos and videos, creating music, or video conferencing. Speaking of video conferencing, the 1080p built-in webcam is a feature far more expensive laptops lack, allowing for high-quality video.

Just like any other Lenovo laptop, the ThinkPad X1 offers amazing connectivity. With this laptop, you get four USB ports–two type-A ports and two type-C ports (Thunderbolt 4 capable), an HDMI port, and the standard audio jacks. Sadly, there is no SD card reader, but you can easily work around that with an adapter.

Lastly, the battery life is decent, lasting around 7-8 hours during normal use, although it can dip to 4-5 hours if the laptop is used to its full capacity. The upgrade to a 12th-gen Intel processor in this model improves performance but comes at the cost of increased power consumption and higher temperatures.

One potential downside of the X1 Carbon, on top of the middling battery life, is the fact that the RAM is soldered on, which means you won’t be able to upgrade your laptop. For that reason, we’d recommend going with 32GB of memory since this amount should get you by for the foreseeable future.

Overall, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 is a fantastic laptop that features solid speakers. While they won’t match some of the other laptops, the Dolby Atmos software used to tailor the sound to your liking can make a significant difference. On top of that, it offers an excellent display, sleek design, and great performance with the 12th-gen i7 processor, making it an outstanding option for a wide variety of users.
