Every gamer puts a lot of time and effort into building his setup so it performs at the highest level possible. To be honest, it’s not just speed and performance that matters – looks are also important when it comes to setting up your gaming place. While some gamers don’t care too much about the looks, others need to have all the details in place and don’t settle for compromise.

If you belong in the second group of people, we put together a list of the best gaming PC cases currently on the market, in terms of quality, functionality and design.

However, I feel like creating a list of gaming cases based on their design isn’t a very good idea, since everybody is different and what I may like, you may not. That’s why I made sure every PC case on this list is also a high quality and offers a good value for the money you spend on it.

With that being said, I am sure all the products below have great design in general and not a single one will you call “ugly”. You will be able to choose one that meets your wants and needs without (hopefuly) spending a fortune.

What To Look For In A Computer Case

Before we jump into reviewing, you should know the basics when shopping for a PC case. There are three major sizes you will be picking from:

  • Full Tower – these types of towers are really big and you will need more space on your desk. They are more than 30 inches high and around 8 inches wide. They can fit the extended ATX motherboard, have extra space for custom water cooling systems, multiple graphics cards setups (up to 4) and also multiple internal drive bays ranging from 6 to 10.
  • Mid Tower – these types are probably the most common, reaching up to 18 inches in height and 8 inches depth. They are Usually good for the ATX motherboard and are still able to fit multiple graphics cards, 2-4 internal drive bays, water cooling systems etc.- basically everything a demanding gamer could wish for.
  • Mini-ITX – and finally the smallest out of these three. Build to fit the Mini-ITX motherboards and in some cases too small to even hold a bigger sized graphics card, these towers are great for those who like to travel with their PC a lot or visit LAN parties frequently.

Once you make up your mind on the size of your case, there is a couple of more factors you need to consider in order to be happy with your choice. Some of them are common sense, others are more of an individual preference. For Example wanting a quiet soundproof case is given, wanting one that has RGB lighting or tampered-glass side panels is a matter of taste.

We ordered them in a list descending from the most important to the least:

  • Sound isolation – there is not a lot of things worse than a loud computer. Make sure the case you choose is properly soundproofed so you don’t end up having to do it by yourself – it is not fun.
  • Fans and airflow – one fan in front and two in the back of a mid tower is a minimum – that should keep the temperature at an optimal level. But more power you add to your case, more fans you will need.
  • Drive bays and SSD mounting points – if you plan on filling your case up with extra disk drives or any extra gadgets, make sure the case you pick has enough space.
  • Design that you like! – your case is a huge part of your set up and unless you’re going to slide it deep under your desk, take your time to choose a case you enjoy to look at.
  • Front-panel connectivity – This is very individiual as some people don’t need more than a USB 3.0 port and HD Audio support, others may make use of a USB-C or multiple USB 3.0 ports. Just check if the front panel is equipped enough before buying.
  • Dust filters – If you’re not the one to open up your case and clean it inside every so often, I recommend you to make sure your case has dust filters installed in it. Dust can cover the components inside, which can lead to worse airflow and overheating.
  • Water-cooling support – If you plan on installing a water cooling system, make sure your case has a liquid cooling support – space for radiators, water pump and resevoir.
  • Cable management – especially if you have a glass side panel that allows for a view inside of your case, it is a good idea to consider a case that has some sort of cable management system – quality cases typically have some cutouts, tie-downs or plastic panels where you can hide your wiring for a cleaner look.
  • Tool-less design – It is always nice to get inside your case without a screwdriver. Some modern cases offer a tool-less design, that allows you to open up your case and install your components without using any tools.

Cougars focus when making this case was clearly the looks and aesthetics – with a use of high quality materials. Whoever designed this case had to be very bold, to say the least. Despite all the focus on the looks, the functionality didn’t take a big hit since you can still install the major performance parts – large GPUs, two radiator liquid cooling system, multiple SSDs, large PSU and CPU cooler.

The things which weren’t really taken into account are the sound dampening or the cable management. There is no need to explain why an open format case will be a bit louder, is there? And hiding all the wiring will be a challenge, too.

Design and material aside, one of my favorite features of this case is it has a space for 360mm radiator at the top and 240mm radiator at the front, which allows you to take an advantage of a powerful liquid cooling systems and push your PC to the limits without overheating it.

Other thing I should mention is that you will have to assemble the whole thing from the ground up. It comes in a box with all the parts individually. The good news is, its easier than it looks and you will have a sense of satisfaction when you’re done!

But putting this case together is only a tip of the iceberg, considerating the endless opportunities for further customization. Just take a look at this video. Crazy, eh?

To sum it up, the Conquer has all the necessities to build a powerful system within it and, in our opinion, looks fantastic. If you like the unique, aggressive look as much as we do and don’t mind the steep price, then you should go for it – all your friends will be green with envy when they see it!

The latest PC case from Asus is made from high quality materials – the combination of brushed aluminum and tempered glass will not only look great on your gaming desk, but will also last a lifetime. As well as the Cougar Conquer, it is a premium case made for showcasing builds – you can put your creativity to a test with the tempered glass side panels, which allow you to see all the components inside and an RGB front lighting, which can display up to 16 million colors.

The other thing you will appreciate is the advanced front panel which contains a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, four USB 3.0 ports, an RGB LED control button and a fan-speed control button and of course microphone and headphone jacks, which will make it easy for you to control everything from the front of you PC.

You’ll also like that it comes with:

  • Built-in cable management – you won’t have to worry about all the cables lying around and interfering. Everything will look clean and sharp.
  • Comfortable case handles on the top – these handles allow you to carry your unique build to LAN parties with ease.
  • Serious water cooling support – with a room for 420mm radiator, water-cooling pump and reservoir, you have all the space you need to set up a massive cooling system inside.
  • Tool-less access to the interior – at the rear of the case you will find release buttons and a simple push will swing down the glass panels, which will grant you instant access to the heart of a computer.

The Corsair Spec-OMEGA is arguably one the best designed gaming case on this list at a reasonable price. It has both tempered glass side and front panels, which lets you see the inside from both the side and the front. The unique asymmetrical & angular design has made its fans in the gaming community all around the world.

The materials used to build this case are high-end quality, which is something you would expect when paying this much money.

However, there is more to the OMEGA than just the elegant design. You will appreciate that this case also has:

  • Direct Airflow Path cooling layout – allows the air to be delivered optimally to your hottest components
  • tool-less drive installation and side panel removal – saves you a lot of time with both building your PC and the maintenance
  • front 360mm radiator compatibility – keeps the option open for you when you decide to install a liquid cooling system
  • cable routing cutouts and tie downs – this will help you to keep your cable routing tidy and out of the way for better airflow
  • included Lighting Node PRO digital RGB lighting controller – with the iCUE software you can easily choose new lighting modes and also synchronize other LED components with your RGB LED fans and front light bar.

However, if you’re not a huge RGB lighting fan, you can pick up the Corsair Carbide Spec-OMEGA without the RGB fans and front light bar and save some money.

4. Thermaltake Versa N21

Case Type: ATX Mid Tower | Motherboard Form Factors: MicroATX, ATX, Mini-ITX | Material: SPCC | Drive Bays: Accessible: 1 x 5.25’’, 1 x 3.5”, Hidden: 3 x 3.5’’ or 2.5’’, 1 x 2.5’’ | Cooling system: Front: 2x 120mm, Top: 2x 120mm, Rear: 1 x 120mm (Included) | Front Panel: USB 3.0 x 1,USB 2.0 x 2, 1x Microphone, 1x Headphone | VGA Card Length: 250mm (With HDD Cage), 360mm (Without HDD Cage) | CPU Cooler Height: 160mm | Power Supply: None, 200mm Max PSU Length | Dimensions (WxDxH): 217 x 463 x 513mm

  • Has dust filters

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Made from cheaper material
  • Poor cable management
  • Only one USB 3.0 at the front panel

Our Rating:   8.7/10

View On Amazon

The Versa N21 from Thermaltake is a cool little case, which offers some nice features considering the low price. Obviously, It struggles in some areas being a low price case, but overall, you’re getting a good bang for your buck.

And here is why:

  • Offers a neat design with a cool triangular transparent side window – allows for a quick sneak peek into your system
  • Supports up to a standard ATX motherboard and CPU cooler installation
  • Supports liquid cooling system – not the biggest one of the bunch (240mm space for radiator at the top), but that should be enough for standard systems
  • Has a removable front and top panel – this can be used to increase the airflow in you PC
  • Dust filters are included – something that’s always handy if you like to keep your system clean on the inside

To be fair, there is a couple of things that may not please you. The N21 is made from cheaper plastic and metal, which takes it down a notch.

There is no good way to manage your cable wiring. When building inside of this case, I really had troubles hiding the wiring. Even though I think I did a good job, It still looked very messy, so beware of that.

You’re only getting one 120mm fan with the case, which – and I am sure you will agree – isn’t enough for a mid tower case.

Nonetheless, I think the N21 is a great option if you don’t have much money to spend on your case, but still want to have a good-looking gaming case that allows you to build a powerful PC.

5. ASUS TUF Gaming GT501

Case Type: ATX Mid Tower | Motherboard Form Factors: MicroATX, ATX, Mini-ITX, EATX (12”x10.9”) | Material: Metal Front Panel, Smoked Tempered Glass, Plastic | Drive Bays: 4 x Int x 2.5”/3.5” Combo Bay, 3 x Int x 2.5” Bay | Cooling system: Pre-installed Fans – Front: 3x 120mm AURA RGB, Rear: 1x 140 PWM (7 Total Fan-mounting Points) | Front Panel: 2x USB 3.1 Gen1, 1x Headphone, 1x Microphone | VGA Card Length: 420mm | CPU Cooler Height: 180mm | Power Supply: None, 240mm Max PSU Length | Dimensions (WxDxH): 251 x 552 x 545mm

REASONS TO BUY

  • Attractive design
  • Perfect cooling system
  • Comes with 4 fans (3 of them RGB)
  • Well-designed cable management system
  • High quality dust filters

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Higher price tag
  • Rear fan lacks RGB

Our Rating:   9.6/10

Another great piece from the ASUS factory supporting up to EATX motherboards. At first glance you can see the massive metal front panel which gives the case a solid, industrial look. On the side you have the tempered glass side panel, which lets you showcase your build.

Another cool thing to mention is the special coating on this case which resists any scuffs or scratches. And on the top you have two ergonomic, woven-cotton handles, tested to support up to 30kg – ASUS claims it is easy and safe to carry your completed build around. There is nothing easy about it, but these handles help a lot if you actually need to carry your case around.

If that’s not enough, you will also like it comes with:

  • Efficient Cooling System Three 120mm Aura Sync RGB-illuminated fans and one 140mm rear PWM fan come with the case. That’s already enough to cool a high performance setup. But If you want more, there is room for the installation of three extra fans.
  • Liquid Cooling Support With the room for both front and top-mounted 360mm radiators +.140mm radiator at the rear, you have all the space to upgrade to a liquid cooling system if you ever so desire.
  • Three High Quality Dust Filters – With two magnetic filters at the top and front, providing a tight seal and quick and easy cleaning and one filter at the bottom, you will be able to keep you PC free of any kind of airborne particulates.
  • Great cable Managment System – With the Cable grommet & Velcro wrap for cable routing and 30mm space for cable management, you will be able to keep your system tidy and sharp looking.

6. Cougar Panzer-S

  • Sleek military design
  • Double tempered glass side panel

  • Generous front panel
  • Excellent value for the money

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Newer versions available

The Panzer-S has a LOT to offer for a reasonable price.

Starting with the military-industrial design – the two fully transparent tempered glass side panels and the protruding external frame with mesh front and top covers left quite a pleasant impression on me. Also, keep in mind the case isn’t made from cheap material either.

While the exterior is exceptionally well designed, surprisingly, the interior is also up to the par – with support for liquid cooling, eight fan-mounting points and space for three graphics cards, the Panzer-S can be compared with the highest-class cases on the market.

Despite being a Mid-Tower, It lets you choose among the most popular motherboard formats – Mini ITX, Micro ATX, ATX, CEB.

The support for up to six SSD drives (optionally two 3.5″ HDD / four SSD drives) allows you to have a lot of storage space in your PC.

Another thing to mention is it comes with three red LED fans installed for the total of four fans included in the package!

All in all, I was really pleased to see not only how good the Panzer-S looks but also how well it performs. In fact, I don’t think there is a better case in this price range currently on the market. You can’t go wrong here.

7. Cooler Master Cosmos C700M

Certainly not the cheapest case out there, we still had to put it on this list, because we think it is one of the best Full-Tower cases currently on the market – functionality, design and versatility wise.

The Cosmos C700M is the newest member of the COSMOS family, representing the very top of their portfolio. A massive Full-Tower case with a unique, iconic design offers not only a high quality material that will serve you a lifetime but also a ton of features which will make your life much easier, such as:

  • Highly versatile layout – One of the main features of the Cosmos C700M is its versatility. The unique frame design supports all kinds of layouts – conventional, chimney, inverse, or a fully customized layout. With that, you will also have different options on component positioning.
  • Iconic, Futuristic Design – If you were a fan of the looks of the predecessor C700P, the C700M made a huge step forwards. Slimmer, more precise look completed by the unique curved tempered glass side panel, creates a premium feel you are going to enjoy every time you look at it.
  • Versatile Liquid Cooling Support – A flat radiator bracket design offers even more versatility when it comes to liquid cooling. It has the ability to be mounted on the front, top, or the bottom of the frame. The two included brackets can both hold up to 420mm radiators for an insane liquid cooling support.
  • Advanced I/O Panel – A poorly equipped front panel isn’t an issue with the C700M. It comes with four USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C port, dedicated mic jack, 4-pole headset jack, addressable RGB control button and a PWM fan speed button for maximum comfort and versatility.

As you can see there is a lot to love here. You couldn’t ask for a more versatile, feature-stuffed, better looking case. The only thing bothering me is the price. Don’t give me wrong, the Cosmos C700M is really a spectacular case with great design and lots of useful features, but do you really need to pay this much for a case?

I’ll let that one up to you to decide. This is the best gaming PC cases 2020′ list and the Cosmos C700M has its place here, no doubt about it.

The Obsidian 500D RGB SE is a newer, better and bolder version of the older, yet very successful Obsidian 500D. The first thing you will notice is the front panel is no longer aluminum, but has been replaced with a tempered glass front panel. The reason for that is the SE version comes with three LL120 RGB LED fans installed at the front of the case.

But the front panel isn’t the only thing that has been upgraded. You’ll also like that the newer 500D SE comes with:

  • Corsair Commander Pro – A fan and lighting controller which allows you to fully customize your RGB lighting. In addition to lighting control, it also provides full thermal and noise adjustability. Because of that, you can easily set your fans for either maximum airflow or minimum noise.
  • Liquid Cooling Support – With a room for 360mm radiator at the front, 280mm at the top and 120 at the rear, The Obsidian provides plenty room for a liquid cooling system.

The Obsidian 500D RGB SE is arguably the best Mid-Tower case from the Corsair´s portfolio. It is filled to the brim with features while offering very simple, elegant and sharp design. If you decide on it, you will love what this case can do for you.

If you are in the market for an extra quiet, classy looking, high quality gaming case, the Dark Base 700 is the one you must consider.

One of the biggest surprise when I first got my hands on it was the construction quality of the Dark Base 700. The case is very well constructed and balanced. Everything just feels incredibly solid.

The biggest reason for that is the well designed aluminum front and top panel as well as the steel frame that holds everything together and also gives the case a premium touch.

The other thing that I like a lot is the front panel, which has all you need:

  • USB 3.1 Type-C Port Gen 2
  • Standard USB 3.0 Ports and HD audio support
  • 4-step slider control which lets you control the speed of your fan-cooling system
  • The RGB LED illumination on the front panel is also controlled via a button on the front panel – you can choose from six different colors and up to three modes

Another great thing to point out is the cooling support. With up to seven fan mounting points and sound dampened vents, you can enjoy maximum cooling with minimum noise disturbing you.

That’s also understated by the two super quiet Silent Wings 3 fans, which are included in the package. And yes, I would appreciate one or two extra fans, too.

There is also three areas to install up to 360mm radiators if you ever decide on liquid cooling upgrade.

In spite of all that the Dark Base 700 is a very solid piece from be quiet! and like I said before, I was very surprised how well was the Dark Base 700 designed and how well it performed.

The Silencio S400 is a Mini Tower case, which you can buy with either a tempered glass side panel or completely closed. The tempered glass version will cost you a bit extra.

With a clean, minimalist design and extra focus on reducing the noise to the absolute minimum, Cooler Master came up with a quality, neat looking and silent case which won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Some of the key features:

  • Insanely Quiet – With sound dampening material used in the key areas and two Silencio FP 120mm PWM fans included in the package, the Silencio S400 offers a truly silent computer operations. Because of this you will be able to focus 100% on you screen.
  • Reversible Steel Door – The front door features a reversible mounting system, which allows you to switch the mounts to opposite side if you need it.
  • Versatile HDD Cage – The HDD Cage can be moved both forwards and backwards to make more space for a longer PSU or for a radiator, or can be remove completely if you don’t plan on using a HDD storage.
  • Storage Support – Despite being a Mini Tower, It offers a huge storage support – 4 spaces for HDD as well as 4 spaces for SSD is more than generous.

  1. Hi Richard

You really brought up a good point, as often people are so bothered by the specs than how it looks. If it does both, then you are onto a real winner. I got to admit I have not really thought about the aesthetics of gaming equipment but I understand how you want to stick out from the crowd. They  look great and will certainly  grace a lot of people’s home. I never knew that they can be that beautiful. You have  chosen some beauties.

If space is a premium, which of the PC  cases do you recommend to buy?

    Thanks

    Antonio

  2. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’ve been needing a gaming PC case for some time now as the loud computer gets soooooo annoying! Mid tower certainly seems like the best option for me

I can’t wait to get the cougar conquer now after checking out this amazing review. Thanks so much
